Masterchef: Did the right person win? (potential spoilers)
I was surprised, but based on the critiques of each finalists meal, it made sense. ALL that food looked YUMMY. Even H was watching with me, and he HATES reality TV of any kind.
I was more surprised on the results of the semis 3 down to the finals 2.
Re: Masterchef: Did the right person win? (potential spoilers)
I think Christian should have won the whole thing, but since he wasnt in the finale, then it was fine.
and definitely based on that final meal, Jennifer's was better. Her technique was much more difficult and from the critique, she was better. I still feel any pretty girl has a slight advantage with Chef Ramsay. But she was still better.
I think so.
And I wish they showed Christian's face to get his reaction.
Very happy that Jennifer won!
I loved watching Christian's reaction when he got eliminated.
Joe Bastianich looked like he didn't even want to shake his hand.
I think she is overall the better chef. She keeps a cool head, works well with others and takes risks.
She had her failures but that made the show seem all that more real that these were everyday people that still have a lot to learn. Very inspiring.
Christian is just plain unteachable which is debilitating trait. I think its why he was eventually eliminated.
Strictly in the cooking skills department, he may have been more talented but he lacked the other qualities of someone who could lead a kitchen/be an exec chef...and the three judges were very aware of that.
He is not someone I would want to follow and buy cook books from or go to a restaurant where he is cooking at.
Oh and I was laughing AND tearing up a bit when they brought the families out.
I was laughing so hard because Ben Starr was losing his mind sobbing like a lunatic. That was sweet....I just love that guy!
I thought Adrien would take Jennifer down, but she really did out-cook him in that last meal. She deserved to win it, as much as I think Adrien is overall a better chef.
I'm so glad Christian didn't make it to finals. He's obnoxious. And I agree with whoever said he's unteachable. Really was his downfall.
Agree! I loved Ben Starr. I knew he wouldn't win, and that's okay. He was awesome and I'd go to dinner at his house and night of the week.
I was okay with either Jennifer or Adrian winning. Based upon the critiques of the final meals, it sounded as though they made the correct choice.
Christian was talented, but he was not the Master Chef in the kitchen. A huge ditto to those who have said he was unteachable. His arrogance was his biggest stumbling block. I was shocked when he called Ramsay and "arrogant *" (or something to that effect - I may have the exact term incorrect) and Ramsay told him that when he has 3 Michelin stars, he, too, can be an arrogant *. Go Ramsay!
I am very happy that Jennifer won. I just really liked her attitude towards food and cooking and how she wasn't afraid of Christian. By the end though, I was on the "Anyone but Christian" team. lol
Adrian was great too and I would have been thrilled for him.

Even though Christian was arrogant, I don't think that was his downfall. Ultimately, he didn't win a lot of the challenges or just fell short of winning most. Some dishes he did were amazing, but most, especially his last were lackluster.
I think that Jennifer winning so many of the challenges and pushing herself to cook more elaborate dishes made her win. Though, I think Adrien is much more creative with his dishes. I thought for that reason he would win, but he fell short on his last dish. I feel he will have more success over Jennifer though because of his diverse culinary skill and imaginative palate.
Yes, I put WAY too much thought into this show. ha!
