Girls That have gone off the pill......
So - I am in the midst of my 2nd cycle post 12 years of BCP's....
I've noticed that my 2 periods have not been nearly as bad as they were pre-pill.
The flow is definetly a little heavier - but not nearly as bad as it was before.....Same thing with cramping and back pain.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing? Or if this is still the hormone working its way out of my system.....
Thoughts?
Sorry if this is TMI!

Mine weren't as bad as they were prepill and I was on for 10 years. I had reallly bad cramping and heavy bleeding before going on the pill in highschool and it wasn't nearly as bad when I went off. I was only off 3 cycles before getting pregnant though.
Maria-- Lucky girl! I am EBF and hope mine stays away a bit longer before coming back !
That's what I'm thinking.
I remember one of my co-workers (who is way older) telling me that my period wouldn't be as bad when I came off and that things would change.... I just didn't necessarily believe her b/c I had such horrendous memories of my life pre-pill!
I know I'm way late chiming in, but what the heck!
I was on the pill for 16 years and went off in November. For the first 3 or 4 months it was like nothing had changed, I was pretty regular, periods pretty much the same. Then in April I started going 7 weeks between periods (HUGE scare there...) but the periods themselves were the same. Then in June I got an IUD, went 7 weeks with no period, then when it happened it was way heavier, and way longer (they've been about 2 days, but after the IUD it was nearly 6 days) but I knew that would probably happen for at least the first few cycles. We'll see how it goes over the next few months.
Soooo...yeah, everybody is probably different, but I was definitely expecting it to be worse than it has been.
