I have seen 2 wedding pictures where the groomsmen and/or groom are dressed in jeans and button front shirts with ties. They did get married in the mountains, but the ladies where still dressed in dresses and heels. DH's BFF is talking about having his GM dressed in jeans. I just can't wrap my head around it.

Not a fan of that look.

My DH hates to get dressed up and so does his best friend but they didn't bat an eye at the fact either suits or tux were going to be required for our wedding.

I think what makes it even more weird is the fact that the Groom looks normal and then the rest are super casual, what's up with that? Go big or go home!

Yeah, it's more the fact that the groom is dressed up that really weirds me out. If they were all doing the casual hipster look, I'd be more on board. As it is... it just looks super high school grad photo.

Yeah, this is especially weird since the groom is dressed normal, as pp mentioned. I've been to some pretty casual weddings though, the last one all the guys wore black carhart pants, even the groom, with dress shirts, vests and ties. When I first saw one of the GMs I thought it was a guest and I said to H 'Omg, look what so-and-so is wearing! Yuck!' And then I noticed the rest of the wedding party, dressed the same way.

Is it a Rocky Mnt. regional thing? I know that we are more laid back here, but still. I just think that it shows a lack of respect for everybody when you don't dress up.

I think the Montana thing is a big part of it, things are just more casual around here (I went to a denim wedding once, everyone was asked to wear jeans, and the bride wore a denim dress). When someone sees me outside work in my work attire (dress slacks, heels and a nice blouse), they're like woah, what are you so dressed up for? It's annoying sometimes, but khaki shorts or jeans are quite common for weddings around here. I agree though, for a formal event (like a wedding), I prefer people to class it up a bit, show some respect.

Ha yeah, it was a second wedding (both had been previously married), so they wanted to keep it casual, but that took it a little far I think.

This is how a lot of people dress in Wyoming too.

I agree that look is not for a wedding party. I did have a few jean wearing family members at my wedding but it was funny because they were all wearing pressed jeans to look nice. plus my dad who I thought would have a fit about wearing a tux actully said and I quote "if I'm going to have to dress up for your wedding Barbett can I at least wear a tux as suits are damn uncomfortable"

I'm cringing right now! And what's with the way they are standing. It looks more like a bizarre JC Penny ad than a wedding photo.

Raynes, B actually loves to dress up too, but I think that's because he wears t-shirts and jeans to work.
