i am about 1/2 way through Never Knowing by Chevy Stevens and liking it .
sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.

Re: what are you reading these days?

  • just finished The Help, and my mom dropped off a Lisa See book (can't remember that title) that I'd like to start in the next day or two.
  • I just finished reading Maine by J. Courtney Sullivan.  I enjoyed it especially because it was set in the town in Maine where we just went!  Prior to Maine, I read her other novel Commencement.  I enjoyed it but didn't love how it ended.  Now I'm reading Elin Hilderbrand's The Castaways.  I like her books for quicker summer reads.
  • I just finished Those Who Save Us by Jenna Blum. It was an excellent read, though haunting and disturbing due to the Holocaust subject matter. It highlighted the experience of a non-Jewish German woman during the war and the life of her daughter as an adult.

Now, I'm reading Diary of a Mad Fat Girl by Stephanie McAfee - a MUCH lighter, chick-lit read after the last one.

I think I am going to read One Day next.

  • I just started reading The Philopsher's Kiss by Peter Prange.  I won it from Goodreads.  I like it.  I wasn't sure I was going to.  I'm really involved in the love story between Sophie and Diderot.  I started it the other day and I'm already half way through.
  • The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen it is young adult chick lit

  • A Wolf at the Table by Augusten Burroughs.  I'm only about 40 pages in, but I was warned that this isn't like his other stuff- it's dark, not entertaining.  I'd highly rec his other stuff:  Possible Side Effects, Magical Thinking, Dry and Running With Scissors.  I still need to read Sellevision.

Before that I went through the Twilight Saga- talk about a guilty pleasure! It's hard leap from Twilight to Wolf.....

I read Commencement a while back and liked it! I'm currently on a Jen Lancaster Kick. I'm reading Bitter is the New Black. And before that I read My Fair Lazy. I know I'm late to the party with her. I love the way she writes!!!

Funny enough I knew this sounded familiar and when I went into my living room I saw it on my bookshelf my mom must have lent it to me a while ago.  It is now next on my reading list

She is HYSTERICAL.  Though I love her non-fiction way better then the recent fiction book but it was still cute/funny as well.
