When you run in the mornings, do you eat anything beforehand? Trying to change my routine and see if it works better for me.
Another old nestie with a new name.
Re: CD and/or Jenhappy
It depends. If it's a short run (<4mi), no. I personally have to be finished eating an hour before I head out, otherwise I feel like I have a brick in my stomach. I can get by without eating unless it's more than 4mi. If it's 4-6mi I will usually just take sports beans and eat 2 or 3 every mile to give me a little boost. More than 6 miles and I have to have real food (for me it's 2 slices of toast with PB and a ton of water).
Honestly though, you will need to experiment. In my group of runners no 2 ppl could do the same thing.
Experiment!
I rarely ever run before work because I have to eat & poop before I run. Therefore, I have to be up an hour beforehand & that just isn't happening on a typical week day.
I've actually had some success getting out of bed & running no more than 3 miles with just a Gu in my stomach. But then I end up racing home to go to the bathroom. I've very much a creature of habit.
