Teen Mom -- (spoilers) who's watching right now
wdyt?
I never really thought of Maci as "shady" until the lawyer stated to Ryan how if she knew the fear of court could cause her to move with no notice since she only gave 2 days last time . I knew she had done that, but from someone elses perspective it was interesting to think that it really was pretty crappy of her....
Re: Teen Mom -- (spoilers) who's watching right now
I just finished watching this episode.
I think Farrah is really growing up. Her situation is really messed up but I think she is actually handling things better this season. It impressed me that she asked her mom to go with her to the grave.
Tyler and Caitlyn seem to be heading in the right direction. I really hope everything works out for them
Maci is disappointing me. She seemed so driven in the beginning of all of this and now she seems to be losing all of her priorities.
Amber and her family are a hot mess. I feel bad for Leah.
Amber: The nails, oh my, the nails! I think that she's trying to do what's best and get the house ready for Leah but dang, couldn't she have at least gotten it ready before her appointment? The editing on the show makes it look like she was there at least a week, but who knows. I think that she's a better person and maybe even mom without Gary and her together and fighting constantly. I think that it's telling that she thinks her mom sucks and she's struggling so much. I know a lot of people will be down on her but she *seems* to be trying to get her life in order.
Maci: I hate that people keep ragging on her acne. It's not like she's choosing people! Anyways, I think that her dropping her classes was a mistake. I hope that she starts more classes the next semester. It was ridiculous that Kyle made Maci stop doing her school work to fix them food. And, gah, Bentley is so dang cute!!
Ryan: I think it's good that he's going to get something official in order to protect him and get his rights to Bentley. It's dramatic that the lawyer wanted to shock Maci with the orders to stay put. Maci has said both on the show and on the after show that she thinks Ryan should get his rights in order. I'd assume it's not going to shock Maci at all. Why didn't Ryan go and pick up Bentley and hug/kiss him when he got home from working? Editing again? I hope so.
Farrah: I think it's weird how she's all of a sudden really upset about Derrick. But, I figure that it's one of those "life would be so different if he were alive". And, it would be but I don't think it'd be like she thinks it would be. I can't STAND how they NEVER harness Sophia in her car seat properly. They can't possibly think that Sophia won't fly out of her car seat when she's buckled into it so improperly. I think that Derek's dad comes across as weird...but hopefully Farrah has support from them. I'm sure that it's eating Derek's mom up that her ex-husband has a relationship with Sophia now and she isn't allowed to.
Caitlynn & Tyler: I think that it's great that Tyler graduated! Shortly, it'll be Caitlynn! It really sucks that Catelynn was happy about a 65% but I'd assume that World History is a hard subject for her. Their teacher seemed cool and connected well with them. I hate that Tyler's dad wasn't there for him but Tyler has already said that he doesn't get his hopes up. So, at least he doesn't expect it from his dad anymore.
Preview for next week: I'm shocked that Maci wants to have another baby. I'm gonna assume that she's got quite the savings right now and that's why she feels secure in thinking about another baby. I bet Kyle is going to be shocked.
It's sad that Catelyn was excited over a 65. I'm happy Tyler graduated though. I love how his mom is always so proud of him.
Derek's dad and step mom seem like nice people. They seem like they're good to Farrah and Sophia. But why did they bring the dog? haha
Maci is just disappointing lately. She needs to ditch the boys and focus on herself and Bentley. About the acne: she has a good chunk of change in the bank. Get to the dermatologist!
Amber-I just don't have words. The whole family is a trainwreck.
This episode made me mad....
I wanted to shake Maci... You can' just drop out of classes like that... I know it's harder being a teen mom and all but it seems to me like even when she has the time to do her work - she found anohter excuse and that is the bigger problem....
I thought it was a good idea for Ryan to get all of the arrangements legalized - however, I thought it was totally ridiculous listening to the lawyer talk about how Maci may up and leave with Bentley --- come on now, she doesn't deserve that type of talk.
I feel bad for Farrah --- dealing with Derrick's death has to be hard and even more compounded with the constant reminder of him in Sophia.... I was glad she went to the grave. I thought she was kind of b-tchy when talking to D's dad, but that's just Farrah....
I also thought it was sad that Catelynn was so happy with a 65, but then again, at least she's working towards her degree. It's not like she has a good support system by way of parents to push her.... BTW how cute was it that Tyler's mom threw him that party? I loved it!
Amber is total trash - not much else to say there..... However I hope she gets her shi* together soon and gets that house ready, I feel like she's being given a good chance here to prove herself as a mom.... So start acting on it already.
BTW - Did anyone else notice how it was Christmas time already in last nights epusode? I feel like there are more gaps in the timeline this season than in others....
I just don't get what is so hard about getting a house together that you can't have your daughter? It really is not that tough.
Also if Amber doesn't get out of the damn bed soon I am going to scream. She is such a slob.
I haven't watched this yet- but a 65% was not a passing grade at my HS. WOW.
World History is just memorization.
I am dreading Farrah's scenes because I despise her so much.
Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she had sheets on her bed.....That totally skeeves me out!!
I must be missing something. If Amber has full custody of Leah why has she been with Gary for so long? She keeps talking about how she wants to have the house done for her, but it does NOT take that long to move in to a house. The show makes it seem like it's been a while. She needs two days maximum to move in to a house and set up Leah's room, right? I don't get it. She was laying in bed for most of this episode though, so I'm sure that's why it's taking so long.
I've lost a ton of respect for Maci. She only has 8 college credits?! Pathetic. She does not work, she does not have Bentley half of the week, and she has a live in babysitter in Kyle (though clearly he seems rather helpless in that he can't fix himself dinner, but she enables that).
Watching Farrah and her mom were like watching two totally different people this episode from what we've seen in the past. It was great to see them getting along so well and her mom being so understanding. I am impressed with what Farrah has done. She has made big improvements.
I don't think Catelynn is the brightest crayon in the box and she doesn't have a ton of support, so I can understand why she was so happy with a 65 on her test. I initially thought it was a bit pathetic that it's taken them so long to finish school, but then I remind myself they have been living on their own and working to support themselves. I am interested to see what their next step is.
ETA: I just realized that it HAS been forever since Amber left Leah with Gary. Leah was with Gary during Halloween time-frame. WTF has she been doing since Halloween? It's clearly December now with all the Christmas decorations throughout this episode. The editing is really confusing.
THIS!!!!
I think it was the 1st season of Teen Mom when Maci was taking a full course load, she was working, she was taking care of Bint-lee, and she was on a dance team. What happened to that super-motivated girl?
It was interesting to see it from Ryan's lawyer's perspective. I did cringe when Maci moved with hardly any notice, but I really don't think she'd run away with Bint-lee.
Amber kills me. Why is it so difficult for her to put some sheets on the floor mattress? With as much time as Gary and Amber spend reclining, you'd think sheets would be a priority.
How long does it take to "get a house ready?" All she has to do is put up some more of her Marilyn Monroe pictures, toss a mattress on the floor, and stick Leah's crib in the corner and she's good to go. Although, I guess with all of that laying down, things take longer to accomplish. Ugh
It took me about a week to unpack our house. But you can be sure when we move again, DS's room will be the first thing to be completely done/set up. So...I'd need....an afternoon to do that.
But I'm not a sloth. Amber is. There's the difference!
I feel like the editing is wayyyy off this season or mtv is condensing too much into a small time frame.
I have really grown to dislke Maci. She has no job, only has Bentley half the time, and only managed to get 8 cllege credits? she's boy crazy, i think its ridiculous that she wants another baby, and i just want to shake her.
I've never liked Farrah. still don't. And I hate to say this, but I really think she's being al sad and mppey about baby dad because she is looking for some sort of pay out.
Amber is a mess.
Thank you.
I don't buy any of that story line at all. I don't think she gave nor gives 2 sh!ts about Derek.
I see your points - but even if she didn't give a shi* about him, he's dead. There has to be some sadness in the fact that Sophia will never know her dad.
It's really hard to want to keep watching this show when I dislike 3 out of the 4 major "characters" in it. Sigh. Catelynn is the only girl that I'm really enjoying watching. She and Tyler are blossoming and I'm so happy for them. Sophia is still cute, Farrah is still annoying, and Amber is still a train wreck. Yawn.
Maci has turned out to be a huge disappointment. I like how she's trying to convince the audience that all of her problems in school are because of being a teen mom, when she has such a huge support system and doesn't even work! She even says herself that when Bentley isn't around she's still distracted. She needs to get her act together.
ITA! In her 16 and pregnant episode didn't she drop out of school and change her phone number so she wouldn't have to see him anymore? And he found out she was pregnant through rumours? I doubt he would have been involved anyways since she was going to such lengths to avoid him.
I think that a lot of the reason that she avoided him and changed her number and stuff had to deal with her mom. I'm sure her mom was telling her not to speak with him, to avoid him at all costs, to change her number. Even if she didn't really care about him, I'm sure it would be heartbreaking to know that your daughter is never going to meet her father.
Okay I watched it.
My stance on Farrah is unchanged. She's a fake, IMO. Yes, I'm sure it's sad to realize that your baby will never know her dad. But I find the rest of her "script" just that- a script.
I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong with my HD. Or is it just her face is a warped shade of orange and her teeth are florescent? I need to have Dh look into this when he is home.
I don't know what was up with Amber and her mother. I think the editing didn't show a lot of what we need to know in order to judge them both properly.
I have nothing to say about Cate that hasn't already been said.
Maci- well, to put it into perspective. I have a single mom friend who finished school- with NO IL support, no family in the state, and a father of her 2 children who had visitation one weekend a month, 50% of which he never shows for.
Farrah has actually grown on me a little (not much).
Amber 2 words LAZY SLOB
Maci is such a disappointment, wth does she want to have another baby
. I had my son at 17 but I first earned my high school diploma, and 3 degrees before me and my husband decided to have any more kids. We were blessed with twins December 09. Two years after we were married. I knew any time before then was not a good decision for me.
Watching the episode right now. My favorite quote from Maci: "I don't want to give up my dream of getting a degree in journalism, but being a teen mom means having to make sacrifices."
This girl needs to get her priorities straight! Maybe a little less time with the boys and a little more time in the library!
I don't trust Maci at all either. She's become very flighty and not at all grounded like she used to be. She says she wouldn't keep Bintlee from Rahn but I'm not so sure it's true anymore.
I think she wants to have another kid because she wants an excuse to be a SAHM. I think she's tired of trying to go to school when she clearly doesn't want to, and becoming a "little family" with Kahl would make it OK for her to stay home (and would make it OK for him to be supporting her and their child).
I think that Farrah's grief is partly for Sophia, and, as many have mentioned, partly for what might have been. It's easy to imagine a rosy picture of life with a living Derek, though the reality may have been quite different.
