s/o Fall Trends & Boots

I've been searching Zappos for boots.

What do you think of Madden Girl Boots?

And Aldo Horkey?

They're obviously two completely different looks but I think I like them both. I really like the first pair and I feel like they would get more use.

Re: s/o Fall Trends & Boots

  • I actually like both of those.  I have something really similar in shape to the first pair.

Just a tip that I've learned since getting into boots a few years ago... the most flattering I've found are a little higher than those - about just under the knee - with a little bit of a heel.  A thick one and not enough to make them uncomfortable, but enough to give me a little height.

I have a pair similar to this that I wear all winter and they're extremely versatile:

Anything lower (in heel or in how high up my leg) makes me personally look stumpy.  I still wear them.  :)  They're just not as flattering on me.

  • I really like the style of both. If you're talking about pairing with skinny jeans though, I'd prefer the brown ones for that look. Since they're higher on the calf, I think they'd offer more balance.

I agree. If you're looking for boots for the skinny jeans, I would go with the taller pair. This is getting me so excited for fall & we still have 2-3 months before it cools off. Lol ETA: I was looking at Zappos as well & started lusting after a $325 pair of Frye boots. Yeah. I stepped away from the computer.

ITA with this. Definitely just below the knee are the most flattering.

I'm currently crushing on this pair from Target:

  • Thanks, ladies! I agree that boots just under the knee would balance things out a bit more. I like the boots that LB & CD posted. I know that a lot of people say they have large calves but I really do, I just measured 16.5". the Target boots would be a no-go. I'm hoping to hit up the outlet stores (ah,hem Pensacola girls anyone want to go to Foley?) so I can shop in person.

  • Love the first one, hate the second. Hardly anyone can pull of that height and not look stumpy.

I have huge calves too so it takes me forever to find boots. Right now I only have two pair that go up to just below knee for that reason.

Oooh...that's a cheaper version (much cheaper) of one of the Frye boots I was drooling over. That's a great alternative.

I think Zappos has a wide calf search option.

They do! That's how I found the brown boots.

How's a Saturday? Maybe we can all go together if we can arrange a Saturday that works.

  • Sounds good to me. I'm free the next couple of Fridays after this weekend.

  • I can do tomorrow if it's not too short of notice.  Next Sat is my bday (although, I don't think we have anything planned), then the following, we're going to Atlanta.  So I can do tomorrow....or not til the 10th.  My feelings won't be hurt if you just gotta go without me this time!
  • I meant to say Saturday in my PP, my mind is off this morning. But I can't do tomorrow. I don't mind waiting till the 10th.

  • How about Sept 17th? I can't do the 10th, my company picnic is that day.
