Hi ladies- I introduced myself awhile back, when we were preparing to move to NYC, and you were all super helpful with suggesting neighborhoods, and giving other advice.
We are now in New York, and after a huge fiasco with moving, being homeless for 2 weeks and living in a hotel, we finally landed in a place that we really like, in a nice neighborhood in Kew Gardens. We have had a good time exploring, finding restaurants in our area, and just settling in.
But now I need recs: Does anyone know of a great dog-walker/dog-sitter/dog daycare in the area? I am currently still job searching, but I am hoping to find someone who can help me with walking the dog once I am working, and probably even before. We have a LARGE dog, so I am looking for someone with good experience with big dogs.
Also, can anyone recommend their OB/GYN? I am willing to drive anywhere in Queens for a good doc.
Thank you all so much! And if anyone is up for a GTG at any point in the future, it would be great to meet some fellow Nesties.
Re: New to Queens-Looking for Recs.
Welcome again! I live in Forest Hills, so very close to where you are. We walk to Kew Gardens regularly on the weekends for brunch, bar fare, or a movie.
No recs for dog walker but please let me know if and when you find one. I have puppy fever like you wouldn't believe. H says no, but I think if I found a good dog walker, I could "convince" him to consider. There is a pet store on Metropolitan in Forest Hills that looks really cute. I wonder if they would have good recommendations.
As for Ob/Gyn, I go to Dr. Barbara Hessel in Forest Hills. I've only had basic check-ups, but so far I like her.
We have fairly regular GTG's, although it's been a while since our last one.
Thank you both so much!
I will post if I find a good dog walker......hopefully you can convince your hubby about the pup.....I love mine like crazy, and our family wouldn't be the same without him!
I will also check out both OBs info, and see what my insurance covers. We are TTC, so hopfully I find a good one, and have an exciting reason for a visit in the near future.
Thanks again!
