I need a short vent...

I have a meeting today to "add" a student in SPED. For purposes of this story I won't say the disability. However, the step-mom of said child works @ our school. In fact she is the only other SPED teacher other than myself which means she has access to all paperwork.

I log in today to do said paperwork and notice it's all done. I check with others who have access and they didn't do it so, I know step-mom did.

Conflict of interest much? It p!sses me off because I told her she can't do ANY of it. She needs to be the parent. She does this frequently about a lot of things.

I'm going to have to go all "superior" on her I think. We should be equals and I've tried that but I'm going to have to go back to a boss/employee type of thing (hard to explain in the education field).

I understand it can be hard to let go when your child/step-child is involved, and there are times when that is a good thing, but this isn't one of those times. If there was ever a time for you to "pull rank" this is definitely it! Good luck!
