I'm really just hoping someone's is worse than mine.
I just spent $90 on lunch. It was a thank you lunch for a great intern, but still. DH is going to have a fit.
Re: FFFC
I went to the liquor store to grab some Dogfish Head yesterday and asked out of curiosity if they carried Smirnoff Pear vodka...they don't.... but they do carry Grey Goose Pear - for about 3x the price - but they didn't have any of the shelf. I said don't worry about it, I'd grab it next time, and as I was getting in my car the guy ran out with a giant bottle of it in his hand, so I was peer pressured to go back in and spent $52 on it..... when I wasn't sure I even wanted to spend $18 on the Smirnoff if they had it....
I plan to drink it all before DH comes home from his trip so that I don't have to explain why I bought that when there are three other full bottles of vodka in our freezer.
we came home from the gym last night and i polished off the rest of boursin cheese spread from sat's baby shower for dinner. i used tortilla chips to eat to it.

I made delicious salted caramels and I've eaten about half of them myself. There were 64 of them, so that's a lot of caramel.
Related: I'm starting to make more and more stuff with caramel because H won't eat very much of it. Bad for waistlines.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I polished off the remainder of a jar of Biscoff spread (yes, that's a spread made from cookies. I repeat, spreadable cookies) and then headed off to swim practice, which was cancelled because of thunder. So instead of exercising for 90 minutes, I came home and laid in bed and watched tv.
I was just introduced to this stuff! And it is pretty fantastic.
The other night we had no sweets in the house except for a very nearly empty jar of Nutella. I polished that bad boy off with a spoon.
More Bump related, but I tend to make up lyrics to the tune of songs in my head and sing them to DS. One of the catchier tunes I repurpose is Bell Biv Devoe's "Do Me, Baby" because it fits nearly everything. Hungry Baby, Poopy Baby, Cranky Baby, you get the idea.
Biscoff spread?!? OMG, you should not have posted this, I love those cookies. They are seriously the only thing that excites me about flying Delta. Where does one find this Biscoff spread (I can add it to the things I eat too much of such as Nutella) and do tell what it is you spread it on.
I love it!
I'm not sure I have anything potentially flame-worthy to confess. Maybe I should start a b!tch-fest post instead... I could fill that sucker.
I bought it at Giant, they seemed to have started carrying it just recently. And here's a coupon for $1off. I mostly just ate it off a spoon, but H dipped some saltless pretzels in it, which was good. He also made a giant smore in the microwave using Biscoff, Nutella, and some marshmallows on graham crackers. That was pretty killer. It's pretty sweet - I think it would be great on a tart apple.
Fascinating. I just googled it - http://www.biscoff.com/DirectionsWEB/webcart_itemBuy.php?itemid=0814
This sounds delightful...
The reason why I hate to delegate projects is that other people inevitably eff them up. I spent the better part of the summer on a project that one of the parties was responsible for the finished product and we had a tight deadline (had to be ready today). We just got it back and it is so messed up. Sigh. Overall, it's still a great product, but it's definitely got issues.
this just made my afternoon.
the time was 2 o'clock on the swatch watch, no time to chill, can't be late HEY, the baby's kinda poopy.
Love this confession!!
Mine is bad...
DH's grandfather passed away in PA, so he's headed up there for the funeral tomorrow. I had thought about going, but 1) I wasn't that close to his grandfather. If it was his grandmother, I would definitely have gone. 2) DH went on Greyhound, which I despise traveling on. 3) I have a mani-pedi scheduled for tomorrow. I've had it booked for over a month, and it expires 2 days later. If I went, I'd be out the $39. And there's already another deal I'm not using that I'll be out the same amount on. 4) There's not a lot of space at the in-laws', esp. with BIL's GF's baby.
I think that's the most flame-worthy thing I've ever written. Just for the record, in-laws didn't expect me to go anyway, nor did DH. I still feel guilty though.
Planning Bio
This is not a major problem, but I'm just annoyed. Tonight my parents are in town and they wanted to take us out to dinner and then they are going to watch Warner for us so we can go to a movie. We planned to save some $$ by using a couple of our Living Social coupons on dinner and the movie.
buuuuut:
1) DH has to work late, so we can't all go out to dinner...we're just going to get take out
2) We planned to get take out from Cafe Asia, but the LS coupon is only for the one in DC, NOT Arlington (note to self: read fine print, dummie)
3) The movie we want to see is the new Harry Potter that I have been dying--DYING--to see. and since DH is working late, our showtimes are limited and the theatre we need to go to won't doesn't use Fandango, so I can't use that LS coupon either.
dammit!!!
Awesome, I love that you're enabling me with a coupon! You rock!
omfg, I would have to smack her.
(clearly, I'm okay with not being nice!)
also, I fully admit that I completely forgot about that rule this time around until a couple weeks ago. when I was home visiting some family last month I enjoyed an italian sub (ham, salami, pepperoni) my favorite sub/pizza shop. sometime later I was reading something on the bump about sandwich meat and listeria and I was like "oooooooh. whoops!"
(ftr, had my 12 week sonogram today and everything is a-ok!)
I was so upset, I almost cried. After we got home, I realized her paranoia was not my problem and that it was just comical enough to be funny. FWIW, I decided with my second that the actual rate of folks getting listeria was so low that I enjoyed cold cuts on and off my whole pregnancy.
so, what does it taste like? it looks like peanut butter. is it more like shortbread flavor? (i know nothing of these cookies, but spreadable cookie sounds fan-freaking-tastic!)
It's sort of like a caramel-ish graham cracker or a cinnamon-ish ginger snap. The spread is super smooth, like peanut butter. It's more intense and sweeter than just eating the cookies alone, and it is dangerously addictive like Nutella.
Can I still join in even though it's Saturday?
I wish my DH didn't go to Detroit to visit his mom for the second time this summer. Yeah I get he's only here for abt 2.5 months, but there is absolutely nothing to do in Detroit and his rental car was stolen on the last visit. He is going back to Abu Dhabi on Sept 1 and I want him here with us. It would have been far easier for her to come here. (selfish vent over, thanks for letting me get that out)
this just means you need a real day off where you take him to DC but you don't go into work
