Are we still doing this? I haven't seen Kim around much this week (she usually posts these) I hope everything is ok. Probably that darn job of hers, don't they know she needs some spare time to nest???!!!
Currently we are working on getting our nursery together and also cleaning/organizing the guest room (which we had to also make our computer when we cleaned out the nursery).
Here is our progress on the nursery so far. We painted an accent wall, hung curtains, and put the crib together. It worked out great that the blue paint I used as an accent wall in our bedroom a few years ago was a great blue for a baby's room. I had just enough left over to paint an accent wall in the nursery. We still need to put up baseboards, get the rest of the furniture, get a new window installed or fix the existing one, fix the blinds, and put up decorations. If we ever decide on a name I want to hang name letters above the crib.

And then here is our mess of a guest room. I have so many papers/boxes to go through and organize! We also have baseboards to put up in this room. (as well as every other room in the house...)

So what are you ladies currently working on?
Re: Workshop Wednesday
I've spent the lest few days finishing up getting my classroom set up. I don't have any pictures, but I put up 2 bulletin boards, some wall decals, moved some furniture, etc.
School starts tomorrow for teachers!!
I definitely know how that feels! We had a card table up in our dining room for the first 1.5 yrs we lived here. When we finally got our dining room set it was amazing!
I love that I can finally participate in this thread!
I am attempting to find a slipcover to match our living room rug. The old owners left us two couches and I found a good slipcover for the sofa quickly, since it's downstairs and is brown. Easy enough. But upstairs, I'm trying to match a shade of red and it's proving to be quite difficult!
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
I love those curtains!
I have been lurking mostly this week... work is crazy.
I had a ton of groupons about to expire- and I went to a pottery class & a gelato class. The pottery class was really cool and def. worth it! The gelato class- "here is the mix, and you need to use a really expensive machine and here is how you make 4 gallons of gelato at once"... basically a waste of time, other than getting to sample the gelato.
And... we are slowly getting our house repaired! New fence last week, the plaster guy fixed our bedroom wall, the painter is coming next week, new roof in two weeks & the last is a new stationary tub in the basement/laundry room. I NEVER thought I would be so excited about a stationary tub. Honestly. But ours is NASTY. It's solid cement, it's cracked so it leaks, and the faucet doesn't work well. The hot water leaks & the actual faucet/spout part no longer turns, so it is permenantly in the half of the sink that has the crack. So by Sept. 10 our house should not look like the disaster zone it has since June 21st!!
My part of this will be to prep our bedroom for the painter & I need to go buy some frames for our living room & order prints from our various trips & from the wedding! In my spare time that I don't seem to have anymore.
No real projects - just slowly continuing to get things for our new apartment. We decided we wanted to do green as the accent color for the kitchen, so we finally got a couple of new towels/oven mitt, etc. How exciting!
We also go a little rug to put by our front door. Since we haven't gotten an area rug yet for our living room, I thought having something just inside the door would help cut down on the crazy amount of dirt/dust that seems to make it's way into our place.
My to-do list for the weekend includes finally organizing my "closet" (we got clothes racks since our apt only has small corner closets). It has a couple of shelves along the side and I pretty much have nothing on them so i need to organize. I also plan to do attempt to tackle organizing our desk area. It's pretty much a disaster.
Wow, Daisy, you are rockinng out on getting the nursery ready!
We are also slowly working on the nursery (2 weeks of vacay + me at band camp for 3 weeks does not give us a ton of free time right now). Our furniture (crib, rocker) came in yesterday, we are hoping to get everything shifted around into position this weekend (meaning J will move it all, lol) so once band camp is over (2 weeks left!) I can start figuring out where all of baby's things will go!
We are also taking a TON of stuff that we had been storing in the guest room (which is now the baby's room) and putting it in storage this weekend, so it'll be nice to get the boxes out of the dining room and have that room back.
