Whale Watch PIP

Yesterday, DH and I went on a whale watch. It was definitely the most successful one I've ever been on. Here are some of our best pictures:

ETA: If you're interested, there's a video on this blog from our trip. It's the Thursday, August 18th 2pm video http://captainjohnboats.blogspot.com/

Re: Whale Watch PIP

  • That is awesome!!! I would love to do this.

Is this the peak season for seeing them?

  • You can pretty much see them around here all during the summer because the humpbacks feed in the waters up here during this time of year. They were super active yesterday, though. We saw 7 humpbacks and a minke (I think?).

  • Very cool! You're pictures are great.  I've been a huge whale lover my whole life and I've always wanted to see some whales in the wild some day.  I did get to see humpbacks in Hawaii and Alaska and along with orcas in Alaska.

They're amazing to watch. We got to see two sets of mothers and calves and it was like they were synchronizing their feeding. It was really cool.
