Cover letters in the digital age?
What is the current standard for cover letters these days? I have a solid lead and they are expecting my resume now, but I don't know how to deal with the cover letter when emailing my resume. Do I just type it all in the email itself? Or is it better form to send along a cover letter attached to the email? Thank you!

When I got my current job, that is what I did. They even complimented me on the fact that I did that when I had my interview. My interviewer said she hates when people just send her and e-mail saying something like, "Here's my resume" (not that I think you would do that. She just used that as an example) or just put "resume" in the subject and don't write anything in the body but attach a cover letter with their resume.
This is what I do. And I use the standard business letter format:
My name and address
The date
Receiver's name and address
Dear Mr. So and So:
The letter
Sincerely,
LMFB
