I went in for a second interview almost a month ago. They originally said that there would be a decision by Sept 1st. That came and went. I followed up, and was told that they had not yet made a decision - people out of the office, etc etc. There would be an announcement on the decision today.
Well, it's 7:00pm. No word.
I'm still kind of clinging to some hope that I'll hear something tomorrow, but I kind of doubt it. I'm planning on following up one more time on Thursday if I haven't heard anything, just to make sure.
Gah, it stinks. I really want this job.
Re: Hope is slipping away...
It's possible they really haven't gotten their act together to make a decision. When they do decide, it still could be you they choose to hire. Do you know if they contacted your references?
But yeah, seems like a good distraction is in order! Rent some movies! And keep looking for other jobs. Good luck!
Something similar happened to me eons ago when I interviewed with a company.
Give them another week and at that point, it's time for them to be honest with you. Gah; a decision has to be made by then.
Thanks for the support, everyone. There is still a chance...but either way, there's nothing I can do about it at this point but wait.
Unfortunately, patience is not my strong suit...
I am feeling your pain!!! I interviewed for a perfect fit job the last week of August and they had no set hire date.
I just checked in with the recruiter a week ago yesterday and still no decision made.
Honestly, though I'm chomping at the bit to know one way or the other, no news is good news! It means you're still in the running!!!
