How to Get Hardwater out of a Dishwasher?

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get hardwater/lime buildup out of our dishwasher? We have tried CLR and vinegar with not too much luck!

  • Try Lemishine. It worked in ours - run an empty load with the Lemishine in the detergent thing. Good luck!
  • how much vinegar did you use?  I dump about 1.5 gallons in and let her go on the longest wash cycle.....I also put in the kids bath toys to get cleaned so I don't feel like it is a total waste of vinegar!

  • Thanks! We ended up finding a special cleaner for just this, not sure if it was Jet Dry or Finish brand. Either way, it worked great and the dishwasher is back in working order!

Ditto this.  Lemishine works great!  I had to run the dishwasher with it a few times before it really got things cleaned out (but our hard water was really in there) and now I use it every time I run a load and my dishes look great.

    Good Luck!
