i will update since it's slow

i will try to make this short. my primary care is a woman and her h is a surgeon. when i was in the er they called my primary and she asked her h to look at my sono to possibly schedule gallbladder surgery and to examine me. i do like my doctor but her h was THE BIGGEST ass. totally short with me and curt. i basicslly was like no way is he operating on me if i have to get my gb out.

so he orders a hida scan at the er and i go yesterday. it wasnt in his office or anything and i told them to make sure to send the results to mary jones not to john jones.

i call mary jones' office today and no results. next thing i know i get a call "hi this is jane from john jones office to schedule your surgery." wtf? that's how you inform someone they need surgery? you just call and ask when they are free? anyway i told them to fax the results to my gastroenterologist who can hopefully go over it with me tomorrow. the lady said my number was .6% (as in not even one percent) but normal is like 40 so i wonder if it could be that low. anyway, i will know more tomorrow. i am still uncomfortable and keep getting hot and cold. also the percocet gave me wicked constipation. i literally was like omg i am going to be on i didnt know i was pregnant cuz i was in agony on the toilet. arent you happy i shared? also all i ate today was a small bowl of cheerios, white rice, a piece of toast and apple juice. it kinda sucks but on the bright side i should lose some weight!

  • Oh, that stinks! Why was the guy not wanting to do surgery on you? Because he has his own patients or something?

I hope you get some relief soon - whether through surgery or something else!

  • Oh no.  I hope you get some more clear answers soon and if you do have surgery it will give you some relief.

who knows. i mean he sure wanted to do surgery on me when he had his scheduler call... it just seems weird that i wouldn't get some sort of consult first after he got my results. i mean i'm not just going to blindly go into surgery without asking questions. oh well someone else can have him cut them open but it won't be me!

  • I agree. If I don't care for a doctor that writes a perscription it's no big deal, but NO WAY I'd let someone that I didn't get a good vibe from operate on me. NO WAY.

  • To be honest, the best surgeons are usually arrogant a holes. They are the ones you want working on you. The nurses are the ones that actually take care of you. That is my two cents.

DH is on the same pain meds. Take a colace every day. it is over the counter and will help a ton with your constipation from the pain meds.

  • It amazes me how people don't listen especially in something imprtant like that.  When I had my knee surgery  I had two different kinds of pain meds...they warned me about constipation but boy did I find out the hard way.  When it finally came time I seriously thought my bum was going to tear...it was the hardest longest poo ever...sorry tmi haha
