OB-GYN recs?

Asking for my sister. She lives in Cumberland, and works in Providence, and is looking for a doctor. Any recs, ladies?

Where do you go? Who do you see? Would you recommend the practice?

Re: OB-GYN recs?

  • I would recommend Broadway OBgyn.  I see Dr. Laina Crowthers in Providence.  She delivered my son in 2007 (wasn't my primary dr at that time) and then I saw her for all but 2 of my appointments for my daughter who was born in 2010. Dr. Brosco delivered her.  I had fairly normal pregnancies and then both times had some trouble during delivery, both drs were great in the delivery room when problems came up.
  • Center for OBGYN in Providence.  Dr. Sharpe is my Dr. but I've also heard really good things about Dr. Boyle and Dr. Salak.
  • I will be looking into Dr. David Beitle in Prov.  I have heard nothing but good things about him
  • I really liked Dr. Brousseau at Bayside OB/GYN.  There's an office near the hospital in Providence but also a satellite in Woonsocket.

I second Dr Brousseau @ Bayside - she is so down to Earth. I used to see Dr OBrien for years until he retired to working in the hospital full time. I have also met Dr Wharton there who seems pretty good and Dr Bowling was named one of RI's Best this year or last for best OBGYNs in RI.

  • I keep hearing two names come up when talking to friends: Dr. Brousseau @ Bayside, and Dr. Connolly @ Partners in OBGYN (formerly @ Center for OBGYN). I'll suggest my sister look into either one of them first! Thanks for the recs, ladies.

I would have recommended my doctor in a heartbeat, but I go to UMass in Worcester. So glad to have your input ladies! Thank you again :)

  • I see Dr. Wiggins at Center for OBGYN in Providence.  I love her.  I have found that sometimes it is sort of tough to get appointments with her, but it's a really busy office, so that might be the case for all of the doctors there, I'm not sure.  I've heard good things about pretty much all of the doctors there, though.

  • Susie, I'll add her to my list that I'm sending my sister!

  • I love Dr. Beitel(sp) he delivered my daughter in 2008 and is now my GYN. I can not say enough great things about him!

Dr. Wiggins delivered my son, and was also amazing during one of my miscarriages when I had to go back for a 2nd D&C.  LOVED HER.  Really sweet woman and she has been through a lot herself.  I would definitely recommend her at Center as well, in addition to my doctor Dr. Connolly at Partners.

  • Dr Jaffe in East Providence
  • I see a CNM named Tina @ Center for OBGYN in Providence.
