Am I reading into this too much? (another MIL story)

So I'm sure some of you saw some of the pictures I posted on FB of my tattoos.

Just a couple hours later I saw a post my MIL made saying "MIL is wondering how much it costs to get a tattoo."   Someone replied and asked if she was thinking of getting one.  She replied and said no, just curious about their cost.

Now why would she suddenly bring this up if she isn't wondering about my tattoos?  We don't owe them money, so I'm not sure what her point is.

Part of me wants to respond and say that they can range in price depending on different variables.  Treat it as a serious question and not a dig towards me.  The rest of me wants to ignore it, the way I have to ignore her bitchy message she sent to H.

I wish she wasn't so tech inclined and didn't have FB!!Angry

Sorry about another complaint.  H is working tonight so I have no one else to talk to.

  • sounds like it's not coincidental but i wouldn't spend any time coming up with a response. you have to ignore her. can you hide her so even if you have to remain fb friends with her to keep the peace you don't have to see posts by her and be upset by her?

This is what I would do... I'm not saying its right and I'm not necessarily recommending doing it I'm just saying I would LOL....

Passive aggressive people piss me off so I wouldn't be able to let it just slide by.

  • she sounds very immature to have a grown son that old and acting that way.

  • Honestly, I think you dislike her so much that you let her get under your skin way to easily.  Block her posts and move on.  I know I havent been around alot but even when you were engaged it felt to me like you used the slightest thing she did as an excuse to be mad at her.  While she sounds immature, I also have to question you sometimes for not being able to let it go and getting so upset when you know this is how she is.
  • That would bug me, but I'd probably ignore it...I am passive agressive though.

I think I'd block her from seeing my posts and pics. I wouldn't block hers because I'm a little too nosy to block other people. I think I have hidden maybe 2 people on my whole Facebook list. I have blocked a lot of people from mine though and I'd block her in a second!
