Here's our vacation rundown (first of all, this is the first vacation we have ever taken together that didn't involve going to visit our family, and qit is our last based on how things went....)
-Anders refused to sleep in the PNP at the hotel, or in our bed, or on our chest-he screamed hysterically and slept an average of 4 hours a night. Which meant we didn't sleep, which has then lead to me getting sick. And Anders getting sick. And a generally miserable time thanks to us all being overtired.
-Thanks to lots of stress over the past month, I am officially below pregnancy weight-and I was at my pre-Anders weight when I got pregnant this time. I am 99% sure I am going to get a lecture at my appt on Tuesday-especially since I was told at my last appt that I should gain some weight (I was only up 1 lb then).
-Our new, 1 month old, car is totalled. A massive hail storm hit at the airport the night after we left. We had to have it towed to the dealership, and the owner happened to be there and noticed that there was 4 inches of standing water in the back and growing mold. If the insurance does not claim it as a total loss, we have to have the entire interior gutted-we are looking at a month or more until we get our car back. The only section of the car without damage is the sunroof. The entire exterior will need to be replaced as well. Oh yeah, and this is the first time we have ever bought a new car-it took us about 4 months to make the decision and we were finally "spoiling" ourselves by buying a new vehicle to have for 10+ years. If it i a total, we will ot only be out some serious money, but we are looking at 1+ month until our car would be available-we had a custom package with the car we currently own.
Life offically bit us in the a$$ for trying to take a simple family vacation.
Re: Seriously???
I saw this on FB and said, 'oh no'
I'm so sorry that your first real vacation didn't turn out so well.
Thanks ladies. Unfortunately, a vacation re-do is out of the question-no one to watch Anders so we can get out of town by ourselves, matched with the fact that thanks to the car damage, we will be out 2k-15k depending on if it's a complete loss or a gut and fix, as well as 1-2 months until we get a vehicle.
Essenitally, this is just a sucky start to a LONG fall for us.
OMG Meghan - that is HORRIBLE. You poor thing. Sending you some de-stressing vibes.
