Recommendation needed (sewing machine)

Hi ladies,

I have never posted but figured this was the board to ask. I would like to start sewing again ( I havent in years) but have no idea what machine to start with. I would be using it to do simple childrens clothing for my daughter.

Can you recommend a machine that is user friendly but not going to break the bank either?

Many thanks!

  • There is a FAQ tab on the top of the page that addresses this question, so check it out for recommendations. I have a Brother 6000si and I like it a lot. I am a novice and it is easy to use and understand. GL

  • I just got a Brother HS-2500 from HSN and I love it.  I am very novice and have had fun with it.  It's the 70 stitch model.
  • Oh, I did not mean anything by it. I didn't notice the questions tab either ;)

  • My husband bought me a Singer Stylist for Christmas, and  I absolutely adore it. It's simple, has nearly 100 stiches, and is completely digital. Did I mention it comes with a warranty! Good luck!
