We've been searching for our 2nd home for the past 2 years now (yes, that long but we're picky and haven't been in a terrible hurry). I don't think we've been very high maintenance at all. We've asked to see maybe 6-8 homes in the past 2 years and have actually put an offer on one house (sadly, it didn't work out). So I guess you could say our realtor and her assistant should know us by now right.
She also knows that when we do finally find our next house, we'll also use her to sell our current home.
We recently lost out on a house that DH and I LOVED, I mean love love loved it. Apparently the selling agent already had buyers lined up prior to listing so there was really nothing any of us could do. It just sucks you know.
So on to my question; how quickly do you expect your realtor to get back to you? On weekends also?
We are in a pretty competitive market and you cannot waste anytime of you see a house you want. I almost feel like our realtor isn't moving fast enough for me, but am I just being unrealistic?

Our agent will usually respond to a text message within an hour (as long as it's during a reasonable time of day) and to an email by the next day. We know that it's easier to reach her by text, so that's how we talk most of the time.
We looked at a house last week and she had to admit to us that as soon as she saw that it was on the market, she slipped out of a meeting to quickly text us the link.. lol! That's what I call a good agent!
She's been super patient with us and is more than willing to show us the houses that we want to view, even though she's quick to point out that she doesn't think that we will like them beforehand. (she's usually right too.)
I expect my realtor to be there whenever I want to view a house & for the most part ours has been.
I sent her an email of homes I want to look at, and she just happened to be on vacation, but said we could look once she got back. We sent her another email of the homes we wanted to see. She took us to 7 homes the next day, none of our liking. Then I emailed her one more house ( the day it came on the market). The next day we toured it, put an offer in, settled, and went into escrow in 3 days. She was there when we needed her, we just happened to get lucky with touring our home, between her vacations. She negotiated and sent all paperwork while being out of town. I was pretty impressed.
Just an idea, but maybe since it has taken you so long to find a home of your liking, she doesnt take you seriously? I know that sounds harsh, but maybe its true. 2 years sounds like an awefully long time of house hunting..
If you arent happy with your realtor, you can always find another.
