Intro

I have been lurking for some time and since I like this board I thought I would come out of hiding.

I am not a "typical" IN. I was born in the states and moved when I was a child to Israel-lived there for 17 years, met my DH who has the same background as me and moved to the states in 2002-with plans to move back to Israel in a few years.

So we are not fully anything- at least when people ask us what are you? we say confused!

Re: Intro

  • Welcome! I'm also in the States and American so I guess I'm not typical either :) I live in the Boston area with my Ethiopian husband.
  • Hi! Typical IN or not you are welcome here. :)

  • You have significant international experience so that is good enough for me.  Welcome to the board.  We are pretty loose in what we are.  If you are nice we will like you.  Its that simple.

We are in Korea for another 2 weeks and then back to England with my South African husband and multi-national child.  I am American by the way.

  • Welcome and I am glad that you decided to come out of hiding!  DH and I are Californians living in New Zealand with our 5 month old Kiwi-American son.
  • Hi, I think I remember you from some Israel posts on here or on Travel.  Welcome to IN!

I used to go by another screen name but recently changed it.  I was married to a half-Israeli and lived in Tel Aviv for over a year.  Now we are back in the US (NJ) and getting divorced.

  • Welcome!  I'm an American (born & raised) but lived in West Africa in my 20s for a bit.  DH was born & raised in India; we met in grad school & have been married for 3.5 years.  We live in the US but are in India right now as my MIL's bone cancer has spread significantly.

  • Welcome to the board! I was born in Israel but moved to the states when I was 2 so despite having an Israeli name and passport, I don't speak Hebrew :-(

DH and I are Americans living in Scotland. I never know how to answer 'where are you from' either. I just wait and see what comes out of my mouth! Soon I'll have 3 passports which makes it all the more amusing.
