Buying a car in VA when you live in MD
I'm probably overthinking this entirely too much, but i'm out of my mind over our current car situation, so just deal with it.
DH is refusing to buy a car from VA. I don't know what his reasons are for this, he can barely put his worries into sentences. I can't figure out wtf he's worried about.
Anyways. There's a car (2 actually) that i'm interested in but they're in VA, and DH won't even consider going to look at them.
Is there any reason we should not buy a car in VA? Other than it being a pita to sit in traffic on 495 or 66 during rush hour?
Both of the cars are at dealerships, and not private sellers, if that matters.
Re: Buying a car in VA when you live in MD
I just did the reverse less than a month ago- bought a car in MD when I live in VA.
The dealer will handle everything for you tax wise and registration wise if you sign a limited purpose power of attorney. The only extra expense will be inspection in MD, which you'll have to send proof of to your dealer in VA for them to complete registration for you.
If your DH is being stubborn, maybe see if the dealerships that have the cars have MD branches? Many of the dealerships we were considering were willing to drive the car to a different location if we wanted them to- we just had to tell them a day in advance we'd want to see the car at X location.
Stand up for something you believe in.
The dealer doesn't have another place in MD, which is when DH started having a mini panic attack.
He's being so weird about this whole thing. I'm just going to give him a swift kick to the balls to get him back down to earth.
We make the rockin' world go 'round.
