    • Highs? my dad was FINALLY discharged from the hospital (after 4 months) and is in a physical therapy rehab facility AND I'm finished the last term papers I'll EVER need to write!
    • Lows? I spent almost my entire weekend writing term papers...
    • See any good movies/shows? nope
    • Make/eat anything good? threw together meatloaf with some different things, and it came out really tasty.  I just wish I paid more attention to what I was tossing in so I could make it again!

    • What are you looking forward to this week? getting my hair cut tomorrow

    • What are you looking forward to this week? SPCA Fundraiser at California Pizza Kitchen later this week.
    • What are you thankful for today? I'm thankful that BGE restored our power pretty quickly this morning so I could shower before going to work. I woke up this morning when it was still pitch black out, poured my coffee and then it suddenly went out. It was the weirdest thing since we didn't have any rain or storms.

  • How was your weekend?  OK, nothing exciting but good enough. Highs?  Going to the Ravens pre-season game on Friday. Lows?  Cleaning yesterday. See any good movies/shows?  True Blood last night! Make/eat anything good?  TS almond poundcake on Saturday- yum. Read any good books?  I recently finished If I Stay, which was decent. What are you looking forward to this week?  My birthday on Thursday- turning the big 3-0 and celebrating with a spa day Party!!!What are you thankful for today?  That I only have 3 days in office this week.
    • How was your weekend? It was fine, but it was my first weekend since maternity leave ended so it seemed *really* short
    • Highs? Napping with DS on Saturday morning. Spending some time alone on Sunday afternoon.
    • Lows? My "morning" trip to my parents to drop off DS and then run errands myself lasted all damn day. By the time I got home I didn't have time to go to the grocery store and I can't go tonight so we have no food for breakfasts, lunches, or dinners. Awesome. And today is DH's birthday so I feel bad because it doesn't seem like today is a good day for a housewife fail.
    • See any good movies/shows? We are watching Dexter and Mad Men on Netflix. I love them both.
    • Make/eat anything good? I made chocolate chip cookies for a friend but I didn't end up giving them to her so I brought them in to my coworkers. DH and I gobbled up a dozen or so over the weekend. We have no self control which is why I rarely bake cookies unless I'm taking them somewhere!
    • Read any good books? no
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Accomplishing something (anything) around the house. Hopefully squeezing in a couple evening walks with DH and DS.
    • What are you thankful for today? That DS is happy

That is what happens! Don't feel bad or get down on yourself.  Not only do you have a newborn,  it was your 1st week back and getting into a routine is hard.  DH took some stuff to our accountant today and based on their convo the accountant said "that's what happens when you add a baby".  You'll figure it out.  I still don't have it down and mine is 15mos.  You can't worry about the house, etc...worry about that baby and everything else will happen.  It took me a long time to realize that and I still get frustrated at times.  I'm sure DH will not mind that you had a "housewife" fail.  Keep that head up!

  • How was your weekend? Good and bad. Visited with family and friends and got some cleaning/errands done.
Highs? Visiting with friends and family.
Lows? We found out that my grandmother is going into hospice and that she isn't expected to last 3 weeks. And my grandfather is in the hospital in the ICU.
What are you thankful for today? Having had my grandparents in my life for a long time and for my family in general. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

    • Highs? football game, seeing a lot of friends I don't see often enough
    • Lows? It was my last hurrah before starting to really work on my thesis and train for the half marathon
    • See any good movies/shows? Last weekend I saw The Help and loved it and we also watched Gone Baby Gone on Netflix and I really liked that one too.
    • Make/eat anything good? Great Cuban food on Saturday for lunch, lobster mac 'n cheese on Saturday night and yesterday I made Ghirardelli dark chocolate brownies out the the box, they are the best.
    • Read any good books? No :-(
    • What are you looking forward to this week? Sushi tonight and Lobsterama at Gertrude's on Thursday

  • How was your weekend?   Very good, although I was so tired yesterday that I napped and then couldn't sleep last night.

Highs?  We had a great time with friends on Saturday and Keefer really enjoyed the dog play time.

Lows?  Keefer going nuts after the time with friends, he was whining and smelling for the other dogs all night.

    See any good movies/shows?  Nope

Make/eat anything good?  Apple cake that I made was delicious.

Read any good books?  I'm reading kees magazines that my friend was awesome enough to let me borrow.

What are you thankful for today?  I'm super happy for my friend on her new job.

    • Highs? Spending time with my Mom on Saturday, spending alone time with DH on Sunday (DD spent the night with my Mom)
    • Lows? DD had it rough when we went out for my uncle's birthday. She hit her head twice, got Old Bay in her eye, was exhausted, and just miserable. I felt so terribly for her and didn't even have my own car to take her out of there before everyone was done.
    • See any good movies/shows? I was supposed to go see a movie but my friend bailed because she had too much to do. I'm bummed - I wanted to see Crazy Stupid Love. True Blood was pretty good last night, though!

I've been going through an old journal and while I had a *great* time when I was younger, I'm grateful for the family my husband and I have built and the life we share.
