DH & I are going to his best friend's wedding in early October. I always have such a hard time decided what to wear to weddings so I need some nestie advice! I really love this dress, but I'm not sure it's nice enough for a wedding. Here's a link to a bigger picture & description.
The nice thing about this dress is, I already have shoes that match and I think I could get lots of wear out of it since it could easily be a wear to work/casual events dress (I HATE spending $$ on a dress that I only wear once). Even though it's somewhat casual, I feel like I can make it wedding appropriate with the right accessories. But please tell me honestly what you think! And if you're a fan, how would you accessorize it? Statement necklace, big earrings, flower headband?
Unfortunately, I know very little about the style of the wedding (even though DH is standing up in it, he still has heard nothing about tux rental, rehearsal dinner, etc.). It's in rural VA, and knowing the couple, I'm not expecting it to be too fancy. But it is an evening wedding with a sit-down dinner. What do you think?
Re: Help dress me please
I think this would be an entirely appropriate dress for a wedding. You could easily add some jewelry to dress it up a bit. I say go for it! Especially if you think that you'll get a lot of use out it.

Have you seen the dress? It says it's knit but it doesn't really look like it in the photo. I love it and from the pic on the website it looks like it could be wedding appropriate if you dressed it up with the right shoes and jewelry. If it were me I would wear big earrings and a bracelet. What do the shoes look like that you plan to wear with it?
It definitely looks knit to me...
I still like the dress!

So, I actually already have the dress.
I bought it online when it went on sale for 30% off so at least I'd have something to wear, but I can always return it if I find something better. Although I went to the mall yesterday and found nothing I like.
It is knit, which is why I'm afraid it looks too casual for a wedding. It's a nice smooth knit though, so I don't think it looks cheap or anything. Also, it's more purple than it looks in the picture (which I thought looked kind of taupe/brown). But I really like it, and the wrap style is very figure flattering!
I couldn't find a picture of the shoes, since they're a few years old. They are slides from Italian Shoemakers. They are kind of a dark gold color with little flowers & sparkly stones down the front. Something like this:
I totally agree, especially with the bolded part. I have been to a lot of weddings, and have seen much, MUCH worse than that.
) I think it will be fine.
Ooooh, I love it!!! I think it'd be perfect for the wedding. I don't think it's too casual at all, and especially not after hearing that the wedding is actually in rural VA. I think that color would be super flattering on your skin tone as well. It looks comfortable too, which is always a big plus in my book. I'm bad with accessories, so I'm not even going to make a suggestion but I think you could definitely dress it up if need be.
Cute find!
