Parks and Rec question

I was thinking the other day that I totally can't remember how/why Mark left. Did he just leave when Ben and Chris came aboard? I'm blanking!

Re: Parks and Rec question

  • He was dating Ann for a while and was ready to propose, but found out she was not ready for that, so they broke up.  He figured it would be a good time to leave because of that and the auditors were coming in anyway.  I can't remember where he went exactly, or any other details, but that's because I didn't really like his character.

    Hope that helps.  :-)

  • Is it sad that I didn't even know who you were talking about ?!  I guess it's a good thing he's gone!  :)

  • Mark left the government to go to a better-paying non-government job.

And to make movies like Bright Star and Water for Elephants.  LOL.

  • I'm glad he left...I didn't like the Leslie/Mark one night stand relationship plot line.  It was too awkward.

I had actually forgotten about him until I saw him on IMDB for something  (actually, it probably WAS Water for Elephants, hah!). I remembered he and Ann broke up, but beyond that I couldn't remember any details.

Thanks for refreshing my mind, guys!

  • I read that he's going to show up for a couple of episodes this season.  I kind of miss him, (Mark  Brandanaquits!), though I guess Ben fulfills the "sane person in a room full of crazies" role. (Mostly.)
  • Funny, I was just wondering this last week!
  • Ben is a million times better than Mark.

    A MILLION TIMES BETTER.

Yeah, I thought of him randomly and couldn't remember where he went. The last episode I remember him in was the telethon when he was going to propose... Then I drew a blank. Clearly I have not been missing him!

Oh, I love Ben a lot. But I thought Mark had his moments. Like when he tumbled in to the Pit at the end of season 1.  I laughed so hard, I almost choked.

  • Speaking of Ben, for you Adam Scott fans... I noticed he is in the previews for the Paul Rudd movie, "Our Idiot Brother" or something. Another movie that shows a completely different acting side to him is "The Vicious Kind". Pretty good movie, even if he wasn't in it, and it's available on Netflix Instant.

He *is* in the movie. I saw it about 6 months ago.  He's not a lead or anything, but prominent in the plot line of one of the 3 sisters (they each have their own arc, in addition to the Paul Rudd role).   His role is relatively "Ben" like, which isn't a bad thing.
