Good Monday morning!

Hi ladies!

I'm surprised Jenn hasn't already done the good morning post, but I can do it, no problem. :)

We had a great weekend! We did our Day About Baby class at Evergreen (Karebear and Jenn and Johlise, I highly recommend it, especially for first-time parents!), and it was nice to be out of the heat all day. I learned a lot (even though I thought I knew a lot going in), and I think DH really benefitted from the information. After that, we went to Bellevue Square and shopped a bit (well, we didn't actually buy anything, we just window shopped), then ate at Paddy Coynes (we used our Living Social coupon - such a good deal!), and then saw The Help. It was so good! The book is better (but I always think that), but I highly recommend it!

Sunday we had our maternity photo shoot with a coworker's son (he's a freelancer). He was so great and had great ideas. We did the shoot at Beaver Lake Park, which was so pretty! It had lots of little hideaways, logs to sit on, a bridge, little meadows, and of course the lake. We had so much fun, but it got SO hot so fast! I was sweating like a pig and then didn't feel so gorgeous, haha. But we were only out there an hour, so it wasn't so bad. Then we came home and cleaned house a bit, and then relaxed eating cheese, hummus, and this awesome black bean and corn salsa that we put together from Trader Joe's (it's the corn and chile mix, the double roasted salsa, and a can of black beans - SO good!). Dinner was the Adele's hot dogs (the gruyere and roasted garlic kind). Yum!

Did everyone survive the heat? I'm really looking forward to the semi-cloudiness today.

Hope everyone has a great week!

  • Picksthemusic - Your maternity photoshoot sounds awesome! Will you share a picture when you get them back?

Not too exciting of a weekend, I did go to IKEA but they were sold out of the cirucs tent! Getting out of Seattle was a clusterf....viaduct closes, hemp fest, blah. Took me almost 2 hours to get to IKEA.

DH got home late Saturday night and we just lounged around the house yesterday and had appetizers for dinner. I love doing that, but I always forget it's really like making several meals and takes FOREVER. I think I won DH over with my eggrolls though!

  • Good morning!  I had a really busy weekend.  I saw a lot of friends, and ate and drank a little too much, but it was so much fun.  I'm trying to make the most of my few remaining Saturdays before College Football season starts.

My boss' boss and my boss' boss' boss will be visiting our branch this week Sad  They are seriously some of the rudest, meanest, passive aggressive phonies I've met who are senior management... which is kinda funny since they are so closely affiliated with HR for the company.

  • picks- i wanna see too!!

kari- i would have been LIVID! i'm so sorry that you got all the way there and they didn't have what you needed!

fri- i looked for a new digital to take to nyc.. i decided that maybe i'll just take my rebel. the digitals were nice but not as nice as my camera and while i don't want to lug it around.. i think maybe i should get over it.

sat- shopped for the baby shower i'm throwing in a few weeks along with a gift for the one i went to on saturday (in auburn) then i drove to woodinville to watch my cousins. got home after midnight. decided that i needed to start cleaning my house.... stayed up until 3am cleaning..

sun- nothing! well my bff came over and we went to the lake to lay in the sun, then we went back to my place and layed by the pool for the rest of the day. it was pretty awesome. last night i caught up on fantasy factory... rob dyrdek is hilarious.

  • zomg, i've been running around all morning with no more than about 5 minutes at my desk before i get pulled to do something else. ahhhhh! and i'm so tired! i slept through every alarm this morning (i have 6 alarms, for a reason). i remember turning off a few of them, but the *one* that usually gets me (my phone) was turned off completely unconsciously. i woke up on my own, with no alarms going for over 10 minutes at 4:40. (supposed to be up at 4:05).

i had a pretty fun weekend. friday i went to rainbow run mini golf with h's cousin. i might've kicked her bootay at golf...it got to a point where i didn't even care about being tactful anymore because she stopped trying. she expected re-do's after pretty much every shot, and it just started dragging haha.

saturday i went to the beach for a little bit, and then i went on a waterways cruises (which i do not recommend). my friend was proposing to his gf, and bought 40 people tickets to get on ($30 each + 2 drinks each, + 48 trophy cupcakes).....that's an expensive proposal! the best part was that she *completely* did not expect it (she thought it was a surprise birthday party for her). even when he put the ring on her finger (he put it on the wrong hand), she was confused. it wasn't until we all yelled at him to get on his knee (poor guy was nervous!) that she realized what was really going on.

sunday i went to nwtrek and it was a lot of fun. the tram tour was such an experience to see all the animals SO close. they weren't afraid of the trams and would just chill RIGHT next to the road and let you take pictures of them as you slowly creeped past. the rest of the zoo was VERY disappointing though. pretty much every animal was hiding and we didn't see half the animals.

picks--awesome! i'm glad you're ahead of me so you can test out all the classes for me haha. can't wait to see your mphotos!

  • Hey everyone! I haven't done one of these in a LONG while, but I'm back! This weekend was really good. My family and I celebrated my dads birthday at the Crab Pot in Bellevue. DELICIOUS! I always feel like a barbarian when I smash crap. And while we were there, another couple that is close friends with the family offered us some free stuff! Baby stuff that is. Hubz has decided to move up my getting off BC shot date to Oct. So starting in Jan, we're trying. CRAZY! So they offered us one of those baby backpack things that hang on the front of you for the kidlet to ride in. I always thought that was a cool product, didn't work for her, so we are taking it! It's just kinda sureal to think it's so close. That's what we want though! I also think it feels weird because most, at least I think most, moms wait until they find out they're preggo and THEN plan what they want. I am a list maker. It's in my gene's so I've already started planning what we want, collecting stuff for the baby. Maybe I'm just strange and nobody else does this. And WOW! This got really long! Just wanted to share, I'm so excited!

    Have a great day ladies!

  • The most exciting things that happened to me this weekend are:

Found snow boots at the Rack marked down from $300 to $44. Big Smile

H went sky diving yesterday... and lived.

Other than that it was a pretty low key weekend. *phew*
