Can anyone suggest a Korean BBQ restauant? After watching the 2nd season of the Food Truck Race I really want to eat some, lol.
Re: Korean BBQ?
So I cant recommend a restaurant but I can recommend a food truck. Mama Kim's is AMAZING! We had them for the first time at Waterfire a month or so ago and now we seek them out. They usually serve Tues-Sat lunch 11-2 and dinner 5-8 up off Thayer and Waterman. Prices are amazing and seriously the food is out of this world. They are actually up for the 3rd season of Food Truck Race.
Here is their link on FB https://www.facebook.com/mamakimskbbq
I know two places in Westborough MA, and they're actually not far from each other. There may be a Korean BBQ place in Worcester, too, but not sure. In either case, neither my husband nor myself have been, so we can't give our own personal review.
My husband recommends the second because the food is really good. He said that at the first one, he'd never seen any Koreans dining in Sapporo, while at Westborough Korean Restaurant he's seen many. So, if you're a foodie and looking for good food, go with the hole-in-the-wall that lacks the ambiance of the sit-down Sapporo.
The first is more of a sit-down restaurant. They season the food for you and you cook it yourself on an at-table hibachi grill. They also offer hot pots. While the menu does have sushi on it, I wouldn't recommend it (just not worth it for the price you pay). It's more expensive than the other place I'm going to mention.

The second is a hole-in-the-wall place with great food. I think DH said it's less expensive (probably because it doesn't have all the decor of a nice sit-down restaurant), but the food is better.

This is the same place I was talking about! Seriously tasty!
I know! We must have both pressed reply at the exact same time!
Sura in Johnston is really good. The atmosphere is somewhat lacking - it looks like an outdated family restaurant - but the Korean BBQ is fantastic (cooked at your table - built-in grills at each booth). http://sura-ri.com/
The owners just opened a downtown Providence location (same name on Westminster St.), but I'm not familiar with that menu. I don't think they have the BBQ at the tables like the Johnston one does, but they do have sushi.
