Need Recs for Chicago-themed Favors

A friend of mine is moving to Chicago and we are having a huge goodbye weekend.  DH and I are hosting a brunch on Sunday and I wanted to give everyone a little takeaway favor.  I usually do a shaped cookie, but am having a hard time thinking about what kind of symbol for Chicago.  Thoughts?

  • white socks?  My other ideas are much harder to make in cookie form.

boooooooo White Sox!! i wwil say the Cubs logo is easy to do!

what about a little triangle piece to look like a slice of pizza or just regular circles to look like a pizza.

  • It's the host city for NCSL 2012 so I was just around a bunch of pro-Chicago "stuff"

    ~Wrigley's gum

  • Hot dog and pizza shaped cookies?

You could get a bunch of cubs logos printed on edible paper (the cake shop near my house does this for aroun $10/sheet), and stick them on top of circular cookies....

  • I was just there this weekend, in fact! Here are some suggestions, though I'm not sure how well they will translate into a cookie:

Wrigley Field sign (or any other sports logo, for that matter)

    Sears Tower

Millenium Park (but it looks like a big jelly bean)

I'd probably do a sports-related one - it would be the easiest I'm guessing.

  • I'd try to do the bean or Sears tower, just because moving states =/= changing team allegiance.

I think the bean would be a relatively low maintenance sugar cookie- you could buy a jelly bean shaped cutter at Sur la Table and use a half measure of black coloring plus some shimmer dust.

  • If you're doing cookies, go with the Willis Tower or Hancock building.

A ton of snack food is from Chicago.  When I got married there, I made welcome baskets full of snacks from Chicago----Wrigley's gum, tootsie rolls lemonheads, Oscar Mayer, cracker jacks, etc.

Even though I've been to Milleneum Park, if someone gave me that cookie, I'd probably be very confused.  ("Huh?  Why did someone make grey jellybean cookies?)  :)
