Monday morning--how was your weekend?

Mine went by in the blink of an eye.  We spent the whole weekend with family which was nice, but it just went by so quickly.  I finally saw "Lincoln Lawyer" which I was really excited about seeing.

  • MIL is visiting so we did random stuff with her.

Friday night our neighbors invited us all over for dinner, but unfortunately MIL had caught pneumonia (she's much better now) so she ended up skipping and just DH and I went.  We had a great time with the couple and their three kids--they have a great family dynamic and it was just really fun.

Saturday we did some yard work.  MIL always goes to town cleaning up our beds, trimming/cutting stuff back, etc.  My job is to just clean up and bag it all.  Not a bad deal if you ask me!

Yesterday was more yard work and then dinner out with my parents and aunt and uncle.  It was sort of a birthday dinner for MIL.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Good morning! I know nothing about "Lincoln Lawyer" but it just reminds me of "The Rural Juror" from 30 Rock and I say it over and over in my head anytime someone mentions Lincoln Lawyer.

My weekend was great- one of my very best friends is up from Texas and we got to spend a lot of time together.

DH decided he can't stand out realtor, so we hired someone new. I can't say I blame him. She's kind of a shark, which I think would be beneficial buying but comes of b!tchy and certainly wasn't giving either of us the warm fuzzies.

I signed up for a fresh milk & egg delivery and get our first order on Thursday. Woohoo!

DS has started stepping! He can take one step, then he stops, looks around, and verrrry slowly sits down. So it looks like we'll have a 9 month walker, which is just plain terrifying.

And we looked at this gorgeous antique colonial this weekend. I'm still really hoping we can buy an antique colonial and rehab it rather than build new. This house was already renovated and it was amazing. We got to the Open House an hour after it started and they already had a signed and accepted offer. *sigh* Oh well. But I will dream about it.

  • Very busy!

Friday night we went out to dinner with another couple friends of ours and their baby who is 1 month older than DS. We had sushi. It was good.

Saturday we ran around like crazy people getting hardware to babyproof the kitchen cabinets as DS started crawling last week.

We grilled and cooked like crazy Saturday night. I made the yummiest salad and grilled veggie dish if I may say so myself.

Yesterday was cloudy and overcast here so I napped when DS did and we just hung out here!

  • I had a busy but productive weekend-- I spent Friday evening taking an unexpected tour of Winchester's labor & delivery unit (baby's heartrate was way too fast and not showing signs of settling at my appt on Friday afternoon)... so I was sent over for monitoring & a NST. Everything's fine and we think she was pissed that I hadn't had anything to eat for a while... she settled once I ate dinner there.

Saturday, we cleaned, weeded out some things to throw out and put the wall decal up in the nursery. I put together the stroller, car seat adapter & bouncer (which the cat absolutely loves). Sunday, I hit up Nashua and did some returns and shopping.

    Yay for your DS!

I want to do milk delivery once our baby is drinking milk.

That is so awesome about the house!  You know how much I also love antique homes.

Nah, I've really taken on the philosophy that unless someone tells me to worry, I'm not going to worry... I did joke about the fact that I'm pretty sure my 91 year old grandmother didn't want to share her birthday with her great-granddaughter. They were so incredibly nice there and now I'm completely registered so I don't have to worry about answering stupid questions when I'm in labor!

Yes, I do! I will try to find a public listing and email it to you. I admit, it isn't as impressive in photographs, but IRL I was in love.
  • Mesa, I'm glad everything was ok!

We were so busy this weekend, it was ridiculous. Saturday morning, we drove out to Springfield to go take care of some bank business for my mom. Hit up my favorite liquor store out there, grabbed pizza and salad from my favorite pizza place and brought it over to my brother's, ate, and then drove back to Belmont. We were pretty much in the car all but an hour/hour-and-a-half from 8:30 until 3.  Then I ran over to Macy's in Belmont to look for a suit, in case I get a call back.I actually found something, (separates - a black blazer, and a pair of black pants and top, too), which means I'm definitely not going to get a call, heh. And then I collapsed on the couch with take-out, and we watched Take Me Home Tonight, which was dumb-but-watchable. (Although H fell asleep.)

Yesterday, I took the dog for a long walk in the morning, and then H and I took off and ran errands. We hit up BJs and Target and the grocery store, and I stopped at the unfinished furniture place to order one of these bookcases. I just added up how much I spent in two days, between all of the errands and the car rental, and I almost threw up. But we stocked up on everything, so at least we won't have to buy anything for a while. And I really needed the new bookcase, because mine is overflowing.

I know TWO people here who have recently fired realtors. Both of them women and both because the realtor was hard on for the husband and flippant with the wives. I couldn't believe the stories but it's pretty weird that it happened with 2 different friends of mine, in 2 different social circles in 2 different communities.

DH didn't like that he would ask her a question and she was really short with him and not helpful at all. Then I was talking to her and she starting writing stuff down in her own paperwork and DH was pissed that she didn't listen to me at all. She actually all but ignored me.

And she kept saying "Don't spend any more money on the house" and then she came in with a list of things to do (like painting the house).

  • We had one last vacation for a while and it was great.  DH and I went down to the New Jersey shore with the ILs from Tuesday night until Saturday then headed to a different shore town to spend Saturday with my family.  I got lots of beach days in and it was nice to spend time with the families.

Sunday I picked up our dog, Doug, from our friends' house who were dogsitting then we started cleaning out the basement for the home sale.  A realtor is coming this week.

Next weekend I am going to come up to Mass for the first time ever.  We are looking at apartments to rent until the house here in Philly sells then we will go from there.  I am excited to check things out.

We watched that last night! I thought it was good - even though I dozed off a little in the middle (this is why I tell DH that we have to start movies at like 7pm - so I can stay awake!

Weekend was pretty eh. I cleaned Saturday and then spent the rest of the day at MIL's doing laundry. I didn't expect to be there for so long! I also picked up a couple of books for DH at Borders and got us each a new memory foam pillow. Still deciding if we like them or not.

Sunday was more of the same - church with MIL (DH had football camp all weekend) then grocery shopping after DH got home. I made a new recipe last night - Asian marinated steak. Tasty!

Oh and I was a maniac reader all weekend. I had about 250 pages left of The Help as of Friday and I was determined to finish it before the weekend was over. Mission accomplished! (GREAT book if anyone is looking for something to read(

  • Friday was our anniversary. We wound up going out to eat with Lil.  She was cutting another tooth so was a bit crankier than normal.  We will be going out by ourselves in the next week or so for our yearly dinner at our favorite place.  (Thanks to everyone for the Congrats and good wishes on Friday!!!)

Saturday we took Lil to Fenway for the first time.  LOVED IT! It was a double header with 2 of the Sox affiliate teams playing.  Including food and seats and parking we spent less than $100 for 4 people (Our seats would have been at least that per person for a regular game).  Amazing way to get the Fenway experience without the crazy pricetag and crazy crowd.

Sunday was just low key at home.  Today I found out that I will have 1 day to prepare my classroom before school starts.  I had hoped to have at least a week or 2 to get settled in my new room/grade but life happens.  Just trying to enjoy my last few days of summer with Lil.

Mesa - glad everythings ok and glad you had a good pre-visit.

LadyE - Good luck with the stepping.  Lil waited until 1 year and that was unnerving enough.  Hopefully it will take him some time to master it so you wont have to start chasing him around yet.
