DH wears jorts daily in the summer, much to my dismay. When it comes to picking and choosing battles, I've learned to leave this one alone because I know I cannot win. I've tried everything short of destroying them. His buddies have harassed him. We all fail. He's going to start seeing my bariatric doctor with me in a few weeks. My plan is not to let him buy more after his current ones are too big...
on men? over the age of "tween"... never. EVEREVEREVER. little boys/kids are cute.
on women? totally fine as long they fit and they're not daisy dukes-length with the frayed edges and/or the pocket length is longer than the edge of the short. I think that's a really stupid look.
Call me Kat =^..^=
Update: a minor victory in the battle against DH's jorts last night! He was flopped on the bed and I remembered this post and decided to try yet again. I gently pointed out that nobody wears them anymore and it was time he upgraded to something like cargo shorts. He was reluctant, but I got him to agree that no more denim shorts would be brought into the house. It's only taken 7+ yrs, but he's finally willing to let go of them. It helps that I pointed out that our friend who wears nothing but shorts year-round doesn't even wear jean shorts... I think that finally did the trick!
By the time he needs new shorts (either for the Jan cruise or next spring), he should be down a size or two.
Next: get him some gym appropriate clothing. Working out in said jorts is not ok.
