Since it's a little slow-paint color suggestions
Anyone want to help me pick a color for DS #2's room? I can't think of anything.
DS's room is a sage green, so we don't want to do that again. I don't really want to do baby blue, either. Its pretty much a blank slate-we have wallpaper in there that needs to be removed, and we don't have any furniture yet either.
So what would you pick for a little boy's room? I would like something he can grow into as opposed to something babyish.
Re: Since it's a little slow-paint color suggestions
Hmm do you have a favorite team? What about darker blue and orange. Brown's are good too.
Sorry I'm no help. A's room is sage green too, and I'm thinking for #2, we will just keep the color the same and just change out the wallpaper.

I hadn't thought of gray....what color furniture do you have in there?
Ha, DH keeps asking if we can paint it black and gold so don't tell him this!
there are so many blues - waht about a darker blue or a dark beige or an orange? Ella's room is a pale yellow which I like, but it might be too girly.
more importantly, what color is the furniture going to be?
Whatever you do, when you take the wallpaper down, make sure you get the glue off!!!
After we bought our house, we noticed that the paint on some of the walls was bubbly. When we went to paint in the colors we wanted, the bubbles got a lot bigger! It looked horrible. Once it dried, we could pull the paint layers off IN SHEETS! It was horrible. And underneath all the bad paint? Old wallpaper glue.
Now I've got another bubbly wall that needs to be painted (we had to repair a hole in the wall and we can't match the paint), and I can't bring myself to do it, knowing that it's going to take a lot of peeling and sanding of paint that probably has lead in it (house is 100 years old).
After you take down the wallpaper, wash the glue off, and I think there is a special primer that can be used to help prep walls that have had glue on them.
PS. I like the gray wall idea!
to answer a couple of questions:
our bedroom is currently a beige-y/medium tan color and its a nice color but sometimes I look at it and think its a little boring and drab.
also, our living room is orange, so we probably won't do another orange room. I am thinking a more muted, soothing color would be better for a baby's room.
re: the furniture-it will be whatever color/finish will look good with the paint
OMG! What a mess. Thanks for the heads up!
I was going to suggest similar ideas to PPs - I love the idea of grey, dark blue, or medium brown for more traditional colors. I've also had a grass green room stuck in my head ever since I saw it in an Ikea catalog years ago, but that's a little out there in terms of color suggestions.
We've been picking paint colors lately, too... I feel like I've spent WAY too much time analyzing paint strips. :P
... every single day of forever.
I've always loved this shade of grey together with the yello
Gray and yellow was a very trendy color combo this past spring- you can do gray w/ a bright yellow- almost mustard and white furniture and it's very cool looking. My kids currently share a pink room w/ white crib and toddler bed, and then the dresser & chest of drawers are walnut w/ white drawer fronts and I plan on moving the white/walnut furniture into a room w/ 2 twin beds and doing that room gray and yellow.
