I'm here, sitting on the couch unwinding after a super bizarre trip to Meijer. Emma is currently watching Dora because I'm feeling tired and don't have the energy to do much else. Planning on putting her to bed shortly so I can have some "me time" before bed.
You're further ahead than me! I still have to get DD to bed, put away a few groceries, do a load of laundry that I forget I needed done by tomorrow, and check to see if DH's suit is ready to go for tomorrow. He has a job interview!!
Sounds like a pretty nice evening!!! I just took some cough medicine with codine... DH and I both have a cold right now and I'm feeling pretty crappy... I hope that helps. It's much less exciting than ice cream, but it will have to do for now

Maggie- That stinks that you have a cold. Summer colds are awful! How'd the new job go today?
Ritzy- Did you get a slurpee earlier? I've been craving one ever since you said that.
It went really well! I'm thinking it will be a great experience! And the people in the new office seem pretty cool. They all seem excited to have me around!
I think it will be nice to split my time between my old office and the new office!

Yeah, the cold sucks... DH definitely gave it to me... But fortunately I have my cough medicine with codine, from the sinus infection I had in June.
And the first day of the job went really well! I think I am going to enjoy it!

It was a mix of bizarre and just plain stressful all at the same time. This is going to be long because if you know me, you know that I'm incapable of being brief.
I decided that I'd get my slushie at Meijer and kill two birds with one stone. I've had their coke slushie there before and it was good, AND it helps keep Emma happy and sitting in the cart while we shop. I had a few errands to do before Meijer, so the whole time we're out I'm telling her we're gonna' get a slushie. We get there and the damn machine says "OUT OF ORDER". I was thinking "you've GOT to be kidding me." Not only had I been craving one all day, but now I've get Emma all hyped up for one, bib around her neck and everything. So I had to resort to Plan B which entailed getting her some ice cream at the deli/cafe counter thing.
Now the cart that I had selected (and put about 8 bags of pop cans into) was being super wacky and kept pulling to one side, but I decided it'd be more of a hassle to flip all my stuff (and Emma) to a new cart. So then I'm trying to push this cart around one handed while feeding Emma ice cream, and it just wasn't working too well. So I decided that even though I was running late and it was already almost 6:30, we'd sit down in the little cafe area while we ate the ice cream. While getting the spoon from the condiment thing, Emma decides she'd like same crackers that were thrown in there with the creamer, salt packets, etc. So I get her a couple packets of crackers and sit down. While I'm trying to get a chair for myself that doesn't have sticky funk all over it, Emma decides to attempt a bite at the ice cream herself and ends up spilling a big glob of it all over herself, the table, the chair, and the floor. I clean that little mess up and start helping her with the ice cream. (If she were at home, I would have stuck her in the highchair with a spoon and said "have at it" but since we were out at the store I didn't want to make a huge mess.)
So while we're sitting there, I notice this older woman starting to sit down a couple tables away. She was looking at Emma and smiling, kinda' waving at her and being sweet. Then before I know it she's walking over to our table to talk to us. At first she seemed normal enough and then she was just starting to act really weird. I don't mean it to be offensive, but I actually think that she might have had a mental disability of some sort. She kept getting right in Emma's face, which obviously Emma didn't like. She was touching her curls and talking about her eyelashes. She kept asking her "what are you eating little one?" and just creeping me out. She was stuttering out all her questions/ comments and I honestly just couldn't wait to get the H out of there and get my shopping done. At one point she whips out some sucker from her pocket that honest to God looked like it was 10 years old and maybe half sucked on. I was like WTF. She hands it to Emma who thank goodness handed it to me. I just acted polite and said "thank you" and had Emma say thank you too, in hopes that maybe she'd just go sit down. At one point she said "I know what your baby needs!! A highchair!!" and started to go get her one from the corner of the cafe. She must have heard me say "Noo.. that's okay. I think she's alright where she's at" because she came back and then invited us to come sit at her table with her. It was just plain strange. I honestly was beginning to think that this was part of some charade or a scam and some accomplice was going to come out of nowhere and try to snatch my purse, or Emma! After about 5 minutes of this, I'd had enough and just stood up and started to wipe Emma off. At this point she was slowly walking away and pushing MY cart with all my pop cans in it and a few groceries that I had already put in it. I just kinda' put my hand on the handle of it like "ummm, what are you doing?" and she just laughed and said something like "oh, I thought it was MY cart!" I just thanked her again for the sucker (which I promptly threw out at the first trashcan I saw) and got the heck out of there. It was just really strange.
Emma ended up wanting the stupid free crackers more than the ice cream, so guess who ended up "having" to eat that. Now normally I wouldn't complain about eating ice cream, but I just wasn't in the mood for it since I really wanted that slushie. I ate it anyways though and then ended up with a stomachache.
Emma was also giving me grief at the store and all in all, I just felt like "that mother" who is all stressed out and frazzled looking. I couldn't wait to get out of the damn store and get home.
No!! I didn't get one. I'm really quite upset about it.
Oh blah. That sucks. Tell Dave I hope he feels better. Enjoy having him home tomorrow though.
Ritzy! It sounds like you had quite an adventure at Meijer tonight!!! I'm glad it all worked out in the end and the crazy lady didn't snatch your pop-bottles (or your daughter for that matter).
Hopefully you can't get your slushie tomorrow!

DH was the same way a few days ago, and then I got no sympathy when I got the same crud and was feeling crappy two days later! Men are such babies when they are sick...

Agreed. Glad to know my DH isn't the only one. He could have a little headache and act like he's out of commission for the rest of the day, "taking it easy" and being a baby.

was a very nice substitute for the codeine. 
I think that sounds like a completely appropriate goal. I think I'm just going to try to put random letters between the [ ] 's and see what pictures come up. I wonder if every letter of the alphabet has a picture associated with it.....

if it's anything like today, there's no enjoyment in having him home...he was either in bed or in the bathroom......so it's not like he's able to help at all......just hope he doesn't give it to me or kaitlyn...joshua already got sick last thursday...
