Am i being unreasonable?

ok so my MIL is here the week...she wanted to come help us since we are moving

I practically had to threaten hubby to make her arrive on Sunday instead of Friday-- since we have not had a weekend together since end of July.

Today I had a 630am meeting got home at 6pm.  Her son rearranged his schedule so he could be home at 4pm.

NO lie 10 minutes after I got in she goes Son I didn't go out today, lets go for a walk I know MrsLady's not coming. I said yep, I'm pooped maybe later...

Oh and hubby managed to get a few speeding tickets today.. I must be on pranked

Am I being unreasonable to want to lock myself in my room until she leaves? I know i'm probably just pooped since we really normally are ok.

Re: Am i being unreasonable?

  • I think you are just overtired and overworked, she really didn't do anything, in fact she left for a walk so you could have some time alone. I hope you are able to join the rest of the visit and your move goes well!

  • a FEW speeding tickets?  in one day?

That's the part that would p!ss me off... not the MIL's presence.

  • Sorry :(  I dont get along with my MIL at all and I'm always rude and trying to avoid her because it's better than an all out shouting match fight.  Get some rest tonight
  • More than one ticket?? That's crazy!

I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and agree with Sofka that she might have been trying to give you some space by going out for a walk with your DH as soon as you got home.  I know my MIL and I don't see eye to eye, but she often irks me the most when she's going out of my way to get out of my way.  Hopefully you can have a little quiet time and get along better.  Prepping to move on top of a 12 hr. day is enough to make anyone cranky about the ILs :)

  • Unreasonable?  That's irrelevent. I don't think we have to be reasonable when it comes to MIL issues.  Carry on.

    Ditto. How did that happen?

  • Thanks ladies! Yes I was beyond tired! Nothing about our cvlosing or move has gone smooth similar to others experience. Hubby was trying to do way to much in a short amount of time! Missed the speed camera and then later was going 35 in a 25! He thought speed limit was 35! Much better day and then the earthquake. Hope u all are ok!
