Naylon is my labor buddy. (Thanks Megan!)
Still nothing. When I went in last Friday, the baby was so high that the doctor thought he might have flipped back to breech. We did an ultrasound and confirmed that baby is still head down, but my cervix is still long and closed. No effacement. Baby was measuring in the 65 percentile at apr. 7 lbs. 2 oz. Everything looks healthy though.
He feels a little lower today, but I'm so short it's hard for me to tell.
I made eggplant parmesan tonight, walked and started evening primrose oil. But no contractions, cramps or anything. I haven't even really had any Braxton Hicks. I'm going to make Labor Cookies tomorrow because I figure they can't hurt.
The doctor suggested sex and nipple stimulation.
The latest drama is deciding when to schedule an induction. I hope to go natural, so my plan was to go as long as they'll let me (14 days). But then I found out that the doctor that I like the least is on call that day, so I'm second-guessing my decision. To get one of my favorite doctors, I would have to go at 6 days post-EDD or 15. Part of the problem is we're looking at Labor Day weekend and they won't schedule an induction on the weekend. I have to call the doctor's office tomorrow to pick a date. I think I've decided to stick with 14 days and hope that the baby comes before then or see if I can talk the nurse into scheduling me to go in on day 14 but deliver on day 15.
I go for a non-stress test on Thursday to make sure that the baby is still okay.
Re: The State of My Ute/Cervix ;)
You totally rock! You're so positive and happy. I was an emotional wreck near my due date.
FX that you won't make it 14 days past! Keep doing what you're doing, and if you're not opposed to it enjoy a glass of red wine and a bubble bath followed by a foot massage. :-)

I was itching to deliver at 38 weeks (although I was literally itching with pupps, haha) but yes... what she said! You are doing awesome!
And things can happen quickly so FX for you!!

Have you considered having your membranes stripped? I know it doesn't work for everyone, but I went into labor within 48 hours of having mine done. It's worth a shot (vs induction).
I also tried walking, sex, spicy food, and pineapple but none of that worked for me. Good luck on going into labor on your own!
This. I had my membranes stripped mid-morning on Thursday, and went into labor on my own on Friday night. I don't know for sure that the membrane stripping was what caused the labor, but hey--it's worth trying!
Good luck, I hope your babe comes out to meet you soon!

Same here. I had my membranes stripped with Tessa early afternoon on Wednesday, went into labor that night and she was born Thursday morning.
Good luck and I hope you do go into labor naturally instead of being induced, and that you get a dr to deliver you that you like ;-)
After I started labor at 37 weeks, then stopped, started, was in L&D 2 times being told the baby would come within a day, then sent home and still nothing...
I tried everything for 2 weeks. Walking, bouncing, stretching, jumping, sex, pineapple, spicy food, etc...
I was induced at 39 weeks for a BP spike (probably my body's way of saying enough of the constant contractions without progression).
Anyway... I would strip the membranes and see what happens. I agree with you- I wanted MY doctor to be there. That's why I loved being induced. I got to sleep all night, start in the morning, and had a baby shortly after lunch. I realize I was lucky with the short labor part. I also wasn't med-free.
Good luck! I can't wait for pics!
