Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

work / computer vent
Friday my laptop had issues. IT worked on it all day. Came in on Monday, and it was booting! I was happy. But it still had virus issues. Barely usable. Talked to them and they are setting up a new fresh laptop for me.
Today came in, new laptop isn't here yet (they get in at 9, I was here at 7:20). My current laptop didn't have the virus popups at least. But now it has issues opening any programs. I cannot open outlook. Was able to get firefox to open after some work. Was able to get my work code editor open with some work. So I can do some stuff. But can't connect to the hardware to test it so yeah. I can work and put stuff on the transfer drive so I can hopefully use it.
But just ugh. 2+ days now of a barely working computer. I am a software engineer. I am pretty pointless without a computer. Waiting an hour till I call them to see what is up. Then I get to spend 1/2 the day installing everything I need to work. So maybe by Wednesday I'll be fully working.
What really sucks about this is there are a lot of things going on and we need to figure out fast. And yep useless one here where it involves what I am most familiar with.
