  • I was in my office and felt it but at first thought maybe they were doing construction haha!  Didn't realize it was an earthquake til I went on fb and everyone was writing about it.
  • I felt my bed shake.  I swear I thought it was the dog.  I didn't even think about it.  Then my son said "Mom, that was an earthquake!"  He was on the couch and didn't feel it.  Neither did Hubby who's working outside today.
  • We were out at the playground when it happened and I felt nothing but, when I got home and went into G's room, all of the frames and some of the animals from his picture ledges were on the floor or changer so, I guess the condo felt it!

  • Um yeah it was not fun here at West Point. I work in a ginormous stone building, on the second floor (and there's a parking lot on the top of this building) I thought I was losing my mind until one of the COLs walked into the hall and said he thought he was having a heart attack or the building was shaking. It was really scary! This place is HUGE and old...me no likey!

  • We felt nothing here in Greenwich, my DH is off today and at home, he said he felt it and the dog was sleeping while it happened lifted his head and looked at him and went back to sleep.  But my brother who also lives in Norwalk, didn't feel it, but his dog was going crazy jumping, barking looking around.

  • i felt nothing and i work on top of grand central.  i was in an elevator when it happened so i think that would account for it.

what is sad is some of my co-workers that did feel it thought we were being attacked again. life will never be the same after September 11.

sometimes all you really need in life is a pink wig.
  • I didn't feel it.  I was checking the mail when it happened.  DH didn't feel it (he works on the 6th floor in Midtown).  My former co-workers sure felt it on the 27th floor (also Midtown).
  • I didn't feel it but my brother lives in DC and he thought his dryer was going crazy.  It is weird but we never automatically think earthquake.

  • I didn't feel anything, neither did DH.  My mom called right after and asked if I felt anything... She said her office chair was moving and she just thought it was the cat playing LOL.

  • I work in chelsea and I was sitting at my desk and I felt it and thought maybe my sugars were low Bc everyone was buzzing around like normal. Then I noticed the water cooler shaking and my cup of water and was like wow it must have been a big truck that drove by to shake everything that much. Finally a Sgt walked out of the bathroom And we both looked scared and I was like did u feel the ground shaking or do I need an ambulance he said he felt it and then our phones were ringing off the hook Bc we are at the intelligence center. But it's amazing how many people were walking around with their heads up their butts. It lasted like 30-40 seconds!

  • I work in Mahwah NJ in that tall glass Sheraton building and we def felt it. I'm on the 9th floor and things were shaking and making noise.  At first i was like what the heck is that to my coworker and he is like that is def an earthquake. So i said omg what do we do?! At that point the CEO comes out of his office and asks what the hell is going on, so we said earthquake, his face was total fear and he said get out of the bldg.  We all evacuated and were waiting outside.

They said we could go back in at our own risk. My boss was so freaked out he sent us home to work from there if we had alot to do.  Everyone was pretty much calm, we RAN to the stairs and started to file our way out along with the rest of the building. The CEO said he thought the building was collapsing before we said earthquake, you just dont think it could happen here.  And like of the other girls said, things will def never be the same after 9/11, that thought crossed my mind as i was filing out of the building.

  • We were in the Poughkeepsie Galleria and did not feel a thing.  DH was in his work van on break and he thought someone was jumping up and down on his truck or something.  Can't believe we missed it!

my mom was also at my sisters house but was outside on the porch at the time and didn't feel it -  weird.

We immediately got nervous b/c of the babies still in the city but they called the NICU right away and said that some wings of the hosp felt it but the NICU didn't feel a thing.

  • I didnt feel anything, I was in the middle of a surgery in Middletown.  However, other people in the building claimed to have noticed.  But you never know if they did or if they just want to be in on all the hoopla

That is crazy because I work in Suffern, like 5 min from there and I felt nothing.  I had no idea it was even happening.

  • I can't believe how many people didn't feel it. I was sitting at my desk typing and thought I was getting dizzy at first and then thought damn these people walking by are making this floor shake like WHOA. Then the guy in the cubicle next to me asked if I felt it and I was like uh yea! It scared the crap out of me! The people walking around in our building didn't feel it. I'm guessing they either sway on a normal basis when they walk or were thinking that was just them walking lol.

My husband didn't feel it. And he acts like I shouldn't have been scared. Sorry, I was not around you when this happened and what would I have done if it was a really big one?
