Hi, my friend is having her baby baptized this Sunday and I want to get her (the baby) a little gift. Any ideas?
Re: Baptism gift?
Catholic? You could get a child/infant Bible, one of those giant wooden Rosaries (DD loves hers), or a small fancy Rosary.
Other options are a savings bond or a nice picture frame to put either the baptism certificate or a picture from the big day in.
Our little Irish rose came to us on March 5, 2010

My First Bible?
DS received a very small and very nice pewter wall cross and pewter crib medal. They hang over his light switch in his nursery. I love them.
He has this one
My sister got him a stuffed lamb from personalizationmall.com and it is monogrammed "God Bless (his name)" on it. It made me cry because I was still all hormonal and seeing his name monogrammed was one of those things that reduced me to a sobbing mess.
Dr. L. and Punky's suggestions are good. I got a lot of savings bonds when I was baptized - they came in handy when I was broke and just out of college.
I also have an engraved pewter cup that I got, and I still use it. I toss ponytail holders, barrettes, whatever in there. Another nice gift might be a small cross necklace she could wear when she was older.
Now I'm just browsing Things Remembered's baptism gifts, and I really like this.
And Punky, we have the same God Bless bear.
