Re: EARTHQUAKE!!!
lachute---did the cats know something was up? me and the dog were in bed and she popped up and was staring at me...weird. she def knew something was up. ari is sleeping and all phone service is out...it was scarry!
Freaked me out! I was sitting on my deck studying and was trying to figure out if I should run to the middle of my backyard or go stand in a doorway and hope the kittes came to me!
my cat kitten ran down freaked. the other one hid and then came down
I hope my boys are okay. If I had to guess, I bet Simon doesn't care and Benny is under the bed...
I missed it. So pissed. I was walking from one building to another andwhen we got inside people were coming in talking about the building shaking. Then I looked at them like they were cray cray and took the friggin elevator.
When I got upstairs my whole cube row was in a panic that I was in labor somewhere due to the earthquake, meanwhile I didn't even feel it!!!
I talked to DH in NE Philly and it woke him up out of his sleep. Poor Andrew came running upstairs and was crying. They all just stood in a doorway.
My co-worker and I missed it too. I guess I was riding a bus on Market Street headed back to work from lunch when it hit. I came back into our building, rode the elevator like nothing was wrong and when I got to our floor, I saw everyone walking out the emergency exit so I just followed behind.
I'm sure if I was home alone with the pup I would have been more freaked out.
I thought I was having an acid flashback.
I shiit you not.
lol
Yeah that's right my name's Yauch!
LOL
Did not feel a thing! Both my husband and I were home at the time. He was standing on a ladder taping up a hole in the ceiling, so it's not like we could have really missed it.
Either our house is really secure or we live in a "non shaking" area of our town. Because people 4 blocks away felt it!
omg it scared the crap outta me. i'm sitting at my desk and my monitor starts shaking... the BSL is right underneath us and our building is connected to a parking garage so our building shakes often. i actually thought something was wrong with our building, so we all bolted outside. we asked some guy on the street if he felt teh shaking and he didn't, so we still assumed it was the building. it wasn't until we were outside for a few minutes that people started coming up to us like, omg did that just happen?
I talked to my mom just after it happened-she and my dad JUST (on Saturday) moved into their apartment in center city.
To paraphrase my mom:
"I was in the shower and the whole thing was shaking and I thought the shower was going to fall through the floor....I'm sort of glad to know it was an earthquake and not sh!tty construction"
Ha, I called my grandmother and she proceeded to tell me about her lady friend who was on the toilet and was holding on for dear life. I was like, uh thanks Gram for that lovely story.
