We felt nothing here in Greenwich, my DH is off today and at home, he said he felt it and the dog was sleeping while it happened lifted his head and looked at him and went back to sleep. But my brother who also lives in Norwalk, didn't feel it, but his dog was going crazy jumping, barking looking around.

i felt nothing and i work on top of grand central. i was in an elevator when it happened so i think that would account for it.
what is sad is some of my co-workers that did feel it thought we were being attacked again. life will never be the same after September 11.
I work in Mahwah NJ in that tall glass Sheraton building and we def felt it. I'm on the 9th floor and things were shaking and making noise. At first i was like what the heck is that to my coworker and he is like that is def an earthquake. So i said omg what do we do?! At that point the CEO comes out of his office and asks what the hell is going on, so we said earthquake, his face was total fear and he said get out of the bldg. We all evacuated and were waiting outside.
They said we could go back in at our own risk. My boss was so freaked out he sent us home to work from there if we had alot to do. Everyone was pretty much calm, we RAN to the stairs and started to file our way out along with the rest of the building. The CEO said he thought the building was collapsing before we said earthquake, you just dont think it could happen here. And like of the other girls said, things will def never be the same after 9/11, that thought crossed my mind as i was filing out of the building.
I didn't feel it here in ulster - but, my sister was at her house in Orange and she felt it, said that things were rattling on the shelves and such..
my mom was also at my sisters house but was outside on the porch at the time and didn't feel it - weird.
We immediately got nervous b/c of the babies still in the city but they called the NICU right away and said that some wings of the hosp felt it but the NICU didn't feel a thing.
That is crazy because I work in Suffern, like 5 min from there and I felt nothing. I had no idea it was even happening.
I can't believe how many people didn't feel it. I was sitting at my desk typing and thought I was getting dizzy at first and then thought damn these people walking by are making this floor shake like WHOA. Then the guy in the cubicle next to me asked if I felt it and I was like uh yea! It scared the crap out of me! The people walking around in our building didn't feel it. I'm guessing they either sway on a normal basis when they walk or were thinking that was just them walking lol.
My husband didn't feel it. And he acts like I shouldn't have been scared. Sorry, I was not around you when this happened and what would I have done if it was a really big one?
