Pinnacle Security

Anyone used them that has any pros or cons about their service quality? They are targeting our neighborhood with sales pretty hard right now, and we had a guy approach me as I was unloading DS from the car last night (which was not a plus in my book).

Other than their aggressive sales tactics, anyone really happy or not happy with them? I don't trust the reviews online, since I can't tell if it's Pinnacle flooding it with good reviews or not. We'd be getting a system that would cost us $100 for activation and $49/month for 42 months, using their "wireless" system, that uses cell towers for calling emergencies. It includes a digital panel, a smoke detector that calls the fire department, a camera that detects motion (and that you can monitor from an app on your smart phone). I admit, this last feature sounded cool, since we travel a lot, and it would bring me peace of mind to be able to check in from afar. But not a necessity.

Thoughts?

Re: Pinnacle Security

  • If I were going to get a security system, I would want it hard wired.

The fact that they are targeting your neighborhood for sales would alone be a reason I wouldn't buy from them.  If you're interested in getting a security system, I would call around for some different quotes.  42 months is a LONG time to be in a contract - that's almost 4 years!

Here's another reason not to go with them:

Everything I found by searching "Pinnacle Security" was overwhelming negative.

  • Thanks! DH didn't like their selling tactics either and told the guy he was frustrated that he approached me while unloading my toddler. He said thanks for the info and that we'll do some more research to make sure it's right for us. Looks like it's not them! :)
