Just this week DS has morphed into a sassy, snotty little thing! Like out of the blue; where did he learn to talk like this?! His tone of voice is snotty, the things he says are snotty. I'm going nuts! I tell him to stop speaking to me like that, and he says, "Well YOU don't talk to me like that!" I tell him to get to his room for time out because of his tone of voice/what he says, and I get "No WAY Jose. I'm not going there - YOU go to time out!" as he walks away! So then I have to go grab his wrist and drag him in his room while he's thrashing and screaming... If I'm talking to DD, he interjects with "Nuh uhhhhh, that's not true, you're a liar".
Where the hell did my little boy go? How are you other moms dealing with this? I have very little patience for this and this morning I had to walk away and make DH deal with it because I was getting NOWHERE and I refuse to argue with a 4-year-old tyrant.
Re: Moms of sassy kids... oy
Hugs, J. I hope someone has some advice & it gets better very soon.
There has got to be a butt print on the step from Owen sitting there all summer long due to his naughty-ness. It was awful towards the end but he quit. We just had consistent consequences and he learned. He probably sat on those steps for longer than he should've some of those days, but I wasn't going to let him talk to me like that. if he couldn't tell me that he was in time out because he was using mean words then he didn't get out. I feel like that helped. Sucks though. I'm not sure where he picked it up either because Kelly and I sure don't speak that way to each other and he wasn't around anyone else very much this summer. Just keep on him.
