  • Yeah, we're all freaking out in our office. Stuff went flying off the walls. I just want to go home!
  • Definitely happened here in White Marsh to Aberdeen. I'm still shaking.

  • Holy sh*t, that was nuts.  I really hope we don't keep feeling aftershocks.  I'm at home today and Keefer has been nuts all day.  At first I felt a little shake and thought it was weird and before I knew it the whole house was shaking.  It's so strange to me to be able to see things visibly moving.  I grabbed Keefer who even looked at me like why is the floor moving, and went into our half bath.

    I hope everyone is safe.

  • I work in the Annapolis Exchange building and was outside with another coworker at the Fed-Ex box.  The sidewalk started shaking and the building started swaying and scared the crap out of us.  We then saw people running out the building.  My first thought was a fire or explosion.  I'm still a bit shaken up.

I had a client call scheduled for 2:00 p.m. - they are located in Boston.  They told me to reschedule because they were being evacuated due to an earthquake.

  • I was napping and felt the bed vibrating...was quite out of it. I had no idea what was going on until DH called from Towson to ask if I was alright.

And I'd like to point out that an earthquake did not send me into labor...this boy better get a move on!

  • I was feeding Claire when everything starting rattling.  Aiden slept through it.

  • I was home alone working - my mom and Maddox were out for a walk - and the house starting shaking and banging really loudly.  I thought the house was coming down and basically dove out the front door while the frame was moving around it.  Brad's sister in GA felt it and so did my friend in MA.  Craziness!!

  • Our school was evacuated and after about 45 minutes of standing outside we were allowed to go home. I was sitting at my desk when it started shaking. I honestly thought it was a truck at first and then I felt a big wave and knew it was an earthquake. Super scary!

  • They evacuated the entire airport then the thousands of passengers had to go back through security. Insanity for awhile but all is good now. Checked in with all of family but still waiting to hear back from Granny in Virginia.

  • That was really scary- it was pure panic in/around our building for a good 5-10 minutes, until everyone was outside and a few minutes went by without any nearby buildings collapsing.  I would like to not go through that again!
  • that compared to a few larger ones ive felt in ak. earthquake was not my first thought here! my poor dog is freaked.

  • Felt it here in Dundalk at work. Our building was shaking and moving really bad. We all went outside for about 15-20 minutes or so. Have heard the the Epicenter was in VA and it was felt from Florida all the way to around Maine! It sounds like it just went straight up and down the I-95 corridor! Heard that it had a 6.0 Magnitude and only about 1-6KMs from the surface which is why it was probably felt as far as it was.

  • I was steps away from getting on an elevator, when the walls started shaking, I could hear the metal in the elevator shaft creaking, and people screaming in the elevators. I did not think earthquake first at all, first thought was bomb and then a plane flying really really low, I'm glad it wasn't those two?

  • Yeah - we all thought bomb/attack at the White House. So relieved that it was "just" an earthquake. My CW had a little 9/11 related PTSD when she couldn't get ahold of her mother and aunt at the Pentagon.

  • we had to stand outside for an hour waiting for the fire dept to come and clear the building.  pretty sure we have reputable structural engineers that could have cleared the building for us.
  • Yea, being on Penn ave between the WH and the capitol, I was thinking it was either one and was thinking which direction to evacuate. I have to say, as long as my metro ride was I was impressed that they were actually running so soon after.
