Anyone use Primerica?

Does anyone use Primerica?  We spoke with them last night about life insurance and they made offer us other products through other companies at a lower rate.  Things like IRA, mortgage etc.  I'm looking to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly.  TIA

Re: Anyone use Primerica?

  • They are pretty notorious for pyramid scheme type stuff, as I have heard. I have no personal experience,

  • My mom was one of their agents for a few years and its definitely pyramid-y.

  • I know someone that has worked there for over 15 years. It is a good company.
  • We have our life insurance through Primerica.  A good friend of ours is a rep. Obviously we haven't had to cash out our policies but so far no problems.

  • its a great company. i use them and have been extremely happy. all insurance agencies have some type of pyramid effect because they have local market agents under a larger company. they doesn't affect my coverage and actually helps me get better rates and coverage!
  • I just interviewed with them last week, but I couldn't in good conscience continue with the process.  The pitch sounds a lot like an MLM/pyramid scheme, and they primarily employ people who don't have training or education in anything related to finance. They also make use of a lot of principles from some too-good-to-be-true snake oil salesmen (e.g. Robert Kiyosaki). Be careful.
