MIL is here this week as you know and while she has her rough (very rough) moments, it's also kind of awesome. LOL. I've decided if she wants to vacuum my carpets because she thinks they are too "linty" - go ahead. Be my guest. Zen, zen, zen. My new mantra.
Also, Jane won't really play with her if I'm in the same room (which she hates, and I understand) so I've tried to make myself scarce today and got a project done I've been putting off forever, went to get iced coffee alone, just sent the two of them on a walk alone. Ahhhhh.....
Now I just need to get through dinner with her - DH is staying in NYC and eating with a friend. Meanwhile it's HIS Mom, but, whatever. She wants burritos from this local place so we're ordering and she's buying. Again, kind of awesome.
Re: MIL Visit: Rough, but also? kind of awesome
When MIL comes after the baby, I fully plan to take advantage of her and have her sew some things for me and DH (e.g., hemming pants, fixing hems, etc.). I'm also going to make her cook once or twice or have FIL take us out to dinner/pay for carry out.
Let yours vacuum! Or do whatever other cleaning she wants. Maybe if she stays busy, she'll have less time to be critical and annoying.

16 read! my read shelf:
I doubt MIL will take any time off work to stay with us after LO is born, which is fine with me because, well...she lived with us for 7 months this year! But it would be nice to have someone around that would clean for us...and other things. But hopefully my Mom will be around some.
She'll be here until Sunday - boo. So, not quite half way but, getting closer
Another plus? I am so used to Jane preferring Jim over me that it's been really nice to be the one she wants this week
Between me and Grandma, she chooses me. She NEVER chooses me, so it's a very nice feeling! Though I did feel badly that she cried when I left this morning
We are also having MIL babysit both Friday and Saturday nights
we have dinner plans both nights. Yay for dates.
Crap, that's right. Closer to halfway then?
Double yay for date nights!
