ok, tell me if this is a bad idea
so remember how I asked about doing something with a monogram I made for a couple as a wedding gift? Well, I thought I'd look at their registry and see if there was something I could get off there - maybe get something from the list and then also something crafty. So there are a couple of items on the list that could be customized (no idea the cost and/or where) - would it be bad to find something similar and customize it? The things they have at BB&B that I would consider are:
- doormat (they registered for two different ones, one of which is the simple brown kind that says "welcome")
- photo album (simple cream and says "our wedding")
- they are also registered for a couple of collage frames
oh also, the monogram is a very simple one with just the initials (it also has the wedding date, but probably wouldn't include it on these items). Feel free to tell me if you hate this idea. If I don't do this, I'll just get something off the list and keep thinking of something else that's small to make - maybe a Christmas ornament?

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of the doormat, but IMO those get worn out so quickly that I'd hate to have you put all of this work in to it and have them throw it out a year later.
But, I do like the doormat idea a lot too.
