Transitioning to crib

Any helpful hints? J wants to move him to his crib soon since he is getting so big!

Re: Transitioning to crib

  • I don't know why it was so easy to move Elsie to the crib.  Ian not so much.  Maybe because he loves his rock-n-play and hates the crib.  Or maybe it's his mom not wanting to move him.  Embarrassed  We need to figure this out soon too.
  • We started putting LO in her crib after we've helped her fall asleep. Gradually, we'd put her in a little earlier. We're now down to her being drowsy but awake and she passes out almost immediately.

I think being consistent makes it easier; using crib for naps and bedtime, every time.

  • I still rock B to sleep - daycare and I have both been working on it, but he needs to be completely asleep before being laid down or he only sleeps a few minutes. If he wakes back up, we can get him to sleep by rubbing his tummy and "shh"ing him.

He also likes noise, so we have a CD of lullabies that play all night. The one night I turned it off, he was up within 30 minutes and I couldn't get him back to sleep for 45 minutes.
