We just felt the effects of a 5.8 earthquake down in VA a few minutes ago... anyone else feel it? Everyone OK?

Re: Everyone OK?
Craziness
Hope everyone is ok!
If I'm not mistaken, the entire east coast is pretty much on one techtonic plate, so it makes sense that all the states would feel it.
It's crazy how much the plates are shifting lately! AR/MO sit on the New Madrid fault line and we've had a ton of activity over the past year or so.
Wow, MB, you felt it?
Actually, I just read that reporters with Obama in Martha's Vineyard felt it. I didn't feel anything, but I'm OK with that. Hope the DC area ladies are OK!
Hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes...makes me a little uneasy!

yep we felt it here and had some bookshelves topple. Andy was driving and he didnt feel it he said.
I talked to Mary, if youre not on her FB, and she and Kirk are okay although there is some damage around them.
Havent talked to Rach but I did see Marian post on FB too.
I don't think I felt it.. I think we were at the grocery store. But being from SoCal, I don't tend to get shaken up (hahaha) by earthquakes anyway.
Hope everyone close to the fault is okay.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
We're okay. Kirk and Amanda (dbucks) are okay too. Amanda and I are at my house bc train lines aren't running right now. Our whole office complex was jacked up seriously, we were in an all company meeting and all of these people FREAKED out. The buildings are cracked and stuff was falling out of our stairways, so we'll see.
I guess the National Cathedral was hit really bad too.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I felt here in MA too..I thought I was having a weird dizzy spell or something.
Oh my gosh, Mary. That sounds really scary! I don't know what I'd do if I were sitting in a meeting and all of a sudden: CHAOS.
I'm glad you guys are ok!
I didn't feel it, but I witnessed it.
Either our house is really sturdy or my loveseat is really cushy, because I was on the computer and the dogs were sitting on the back of the couch. Then the front screen door started rattling and the dogs started barking (it rattled about 15 seconds). I thought it was just an animal at the door (our neighbor's beagle likes to come harass Benny when she gets loose), but there was nothing there.
I got in the car about 10 til 3 and it was all over the radio about the earthquake. My mom was in Morgantown, WV and she said it felt like someone was behind her shaking her chair, and the overhead lights were swinging.
Thanks for the concern ladies!:) I'm glad everyone else is ok.
We were actually in the car on our way home from NJ. We didn't even notice when it happened (I think we were in DE at the time). We came home to some crooked pictures and others had fallen off the walls, one broken champagne glass, but that's about it! No biggie:)
