it looks like the eye of the storm is hitting north of where we will be..so it won't be too intense, but we'll still feel the wind and rain. i asked for advice on my BMB since there's national girls there and i have *zero* hurricane experience...and they all said to wait it out because airlines will cancel if necessary, and storms change paths all the time.....
but if i get stranded on the beach of SC...... no biggie

Wait it out. Airlines will cancel/reschedule as they see fit and it won't cost you money. I've been through over a dozen hurricanes in FL - and I know they can be deadly and very dangerous, but for the most part I think people play into the hysteria.
If you end up going, bring rain boots... and a canoe.
The last time I was there I got caught in a horrible rainstorm and I was soaked from head to toe. I've never seen rain like that in my life. What they call rain, we call monsoons here.

i've been watching this..and it keeps curving a little further to the right, and hitting land further up north. so i don't think we'll hit the "hurricane", but i think i might get some rain and wind. we'll see.
