Convertible car seat recs?
I know it's been posted many times, but would you mind recommending your convertible car seat? I'd like to start researching now so I can keep an eye on sales as we get closer to needing one. I've read that Britax is a great brand, but I know that is a pricey one............

Re: Convertible car seat recs?
We have the Evenflo Triumph DLX (I think that's the right model...it's gray and black) and I really like it! I particularly like how easy it is to tighten the straps.
I have a Graco MyRide 65, and we LOVE IT! SOOO comfy, it stays rear-facing up to 40lbs and forward up to 65lbs. The price is nice, $130ish- I know when we bought ours from Target, it was the ONLY one on the shelf and they ended up giving us an extra 10% off because the box was all dented and what not, so that made me happy! It's very easy to instal, both forward & backwards.
Has cup holders on both sides, and Ella LOVES that feature. I drive a Jeep Grand Charokee, and it's in the middle, fits great in the middle seat, with room on both sides for people. (And I say that with total honesty, as my hips aren't as small as they used to be and I can sit back there and be just fine)
I have the gray/green one and think it's nice, plus it matches my gray seats! (I'm a geek like that)
Wow, another vote for the Evenflo Triumph Advance. We like all the features mentioned above and several friends who have used ours with Sophia went out and bought the same one for their kids for ease of use.
I actually snagged one that was the previous years model for $100 off Amazon when we bought ours. The other came from BRU with a coupon and was $120 or so.
We're getting the Britax Boulevard CS 70, I haven't used it yet but it gets great reviews.

We also have the Britax Boulevard CS 70 and have been happy with it. However, it's a BIG car seat. So if you have a smaller vehicle, you'll want to rethink what size seat to get.

Molly, I have a Nissan Altima, which is has a good sized back seat, do you think I'll have any problems?
I've been meaning to ask at BabiesRUs if they will let me take the display model out to my car to see if it will fit...do they even do that?
We have the Graco Nautilus and really like it. Great price, neutral colors, cleans up easy, 5 point harness.

Recommended Use:
Ashley - I'm not familiar with an Altima. It's it comparable size to a Toyota Camry? We have ours in the Camry and it causes the passenger seat to be up so far that the front seat is barely usable. If I try to sit on the passenger side my knees are pulled up and flush with the dash. Which is why we don't take the Camry on family trips anymore
That being said, I should gain some leg room once we turn him forward facing (which we're holding off on).
ETA - I'm also fairly tall, so that might be part of it too. I need lots of leg room!

Molly,
Altima & Camry are about the same size. Your issues are not giving me hope... I'm only 5'5" though, maybe that will help.DH & I both drive Altimas.
I just called BRU, they will let you take a display model out to your car to check spacing/fit. I'll add that to our to-do list.
We have the Graco Nautilus for M (who is 3) and really like it, but it is not a true convertible seat since it is only forward-facing. Just FYI.
